So, When Does Ted Cruz Get His Apology?

So, When Does Ted Cruz Get His Apology?

That crazy Ted Cruz. The Texas freshman Senator (R-Tea Party) tried to defund Obamacare, then accepted a one-year delay in the individual mandate as a compromise position. But you can't govern from one House of Congress, and the one he's in is one the Republicans don't govern anyway. Obama and the Democrats held all the cards. So Cruz caved--it was only a matter of time, right?--and Republicans got blamed for everything.

Fast-forward a few weeks. President Barack Obama is trying to delay parts of Obamacare by administrative fiat. Democrats are rushing for the exits, ready to sign onto a bill that will essentially gut the entire policy by letting people keep their insurance (as promised). The website has not been fixed, and will not be fixed by the end of November. The media, Obama's core constituents, are wavering. Suddenly he looks desperate.

What wouldn't Barack Obama give to be able to wind back the clock to late September and accept Ted Cruz's offer of a one-year delay--in exchange, say, for a promise not to block immigration reform? That would have been a trade worthy of Lyndon Johnson, who knew how to give a little to get what he wanted. It also would have saved Obama the hideous--and global--embarrassment of Obamacare's failure--for a while, anyway.

Yes, Cruz's strategy was flawed because defunding seemed nearly impossible, and because he struggled to unite the GOP (not least because he occasionally attacked would-be allies). But he made it absolutely clear that Republicans had zero ownership of Obamacare--a fact that would not have been as obvious had the GOP meekly funded the program. He set down a bright marker. And was mocked. When does he get his apology?

He doesn’t. What apparently he will get is a “Knockout Game” knockout from Mitchy McC.

Let Cruz take his apology out in a glorious presidential win in 2016. We don’t need lip service from either the Dhimmicrat party or the RINO party.

Words as lies are meaningless.

Nobody likes to hear "I told you so".

Nobody likes it when they're having a good time and somebody tries to act like a responsible adult.

It took years for the media to admit Dan Quayle was right about Murphy Brown. A lot of libs still won't admit it.

So don't hold your breath, Ted.

Bullsh!t, there was no flaw in Cruz's strategy. The only way to stop Obungholecare is by DEFUNDING THE POS.

The problem is the CAPON REPUBLICANS IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES DON'T HAVE THE POLITICAL WILL TO ASSERT THEIR CONSTITUTIONAL DUTY TO CONTROL THE POWER OF THE PURSE. <-----which is what the 2010 elections were all about.

I know this FACT disturbs a lot of trolling leftist Krauthammer types on FR. (---->See Sickoflibs, etc.)

He gets an apology when Obama and Reid pass a House bill defunding or repealing Obamacare. When they blink.

As far as I can see we got NOTHING out of it.
Only the GSs who got two more weeks of paid vacation in an ideal weather month October got anything good out of it.

A GS friend of mine emailed me with :”You guys caved too soon. I wanted another week off”

Same here!

Senator Cruz is the kind of potential candidate that excites the base, principled and articulate!

I will support Ted Cruz. He’s the one who saw this coming. The spoke clearly and honestly while the other played politics with us.

It irritates me to hear news people and RINOs still saying that the Republican Party took a hit for the shutdown. They're breathing too much DC air if that's what they think. What most real people were fed up with is the petulant immature things Obama did to punish the US for the shutdown happening.

What conservatives will NEVER get over is McCain not being stifled with that disgusting backstabbing of everything conservative. McCain shouldn't apologize....he should slither away to an old age home and stay there. The other backstabbers should not have any apologies accepted, so don't bother.

I’ll second that.

What is the difference between these two turkey necks: Mitch McConnell and Harry Reid?

Personally I believe that Cruz’s filibuster brought a focus on obamacare that was missing in the minds of most people. It was the first domino to fall and started the landslide coverage of the rest. Would America have noticed the website failure if they had not been so focused on Cruz and some of the things he revealed to the “sleeping” low information voter?
