Former George W. Bush strategist and presidential adviser Karl Rove visited Fayetteville on Wednesday to raise money for Thom Tillis, the state House speaker and Republican candidate for U.S. Senate.
The soiree was held at the home of Terry and Rosalind Hutchens and open to people donating $1,000 to $2,600. The event was closed to the press; neither Rove nor Tillis granted interviews before the fundraiser.

Never heard of him. But if Tokyo Rove supports him, well, then, that’s all we need to know.
Rove never just supports a Republican against a Democrat opponent, so there must be a Tea Partier on the loose somewhere that he’s anxious to block.
If you really want to stick it to Karl Rove, THIS is the race to do it in.
We have a constitutional Tea Party conservative in the same vein as Ted Cruz challenging Rove’s establishment tax-loving Tillis, and he polls BETTER than Tillis against Hagan. In fact, he was ahead of her by 1 point in the latest poll.

His checks cleared!
I am not going to say anything bad about Tillis, only that I am supporting a true conservative, Bill Flynn in the race.
In the latest poll, Hagan beats Tillis but Brannon beats Hagan.
But Rove doesn’t care. He just wants an establishment type to be the republican nominee.
If those numbers were reversed, he’d say that we must support Tillis because he can beat Hagan. Any argument to get your way and maintain control of the party.
Does anyone know who the Senate Conservatives Fund is supporting in this North Carolina primary? That’s who I’ll support.
Because of Obamacare Hagan has gone from +17 to being toast. BC/BS just raised rates 24% and that is it for Hagan. The only way she wins is if Tokyo Rove and his GOPe gang can nominate Tillis. There are at least two other real conservatives (Rev. Harris) who are now polling ahead of Hagan so North Carolina, please don’t buy this scumbag’s line about needing a “moderate” like Tillis to win. Tillis is a typical high tax “reach across the aisle” Whig.
Ooops forgot to ask: Does Hannity still call this p o s “the architect?” - just asking.
Karl Rove, President George W. Bush's top political adviser, was instrumental in bringing Schmidt into Bush's 2004 campaign. But Schmidt resents being called a Rove protege, apparently because he rejects the win-at-all-costs attitude Rove projects.
I don’t know what the NC primary rules are for 2014, but I remember that in 2012 there was a primary runoff if the leading candidate received less than 40% of the vote. So if we make the assumption that Rove’s GOPe RINO candidate gets the most votes in the primary, multiple “non-Tillis candidates will serve to keep her under the 40% threshold. And, in this scenario, the second place finisher will almost certainly be a conservative and will likely defeat Tillis in any runoff and then defeat Hagen in the general election.
Game on, Rove!
If Karl Rove is involved...the candidate is not Conservative
Karl Rove should just go back to Texas and care for farm animals
I will smile when satan calls him home.
I just made a donation... jam that in your arse rove!
They have not endorsed yet, but I am guessing they’ll back Greg Brannon. He has the support of Tea Party organizations across North Carolina, as well as ‘Red State’. He also now polls ahead of Hagan. Tillis polls behind her.
