On a more sober note, the eventual outcome of all this, when the accumulated wealth of working Americans has been stolen and spent, when the entire resources of the tax revenues have to be spent on entitlements, and there is no more extant wealth remaining, it will boil down to a matter of time. Time required of industrious (no sloths) to produce for the needs of the slothful (entitlements).
Of course, the logical extension of this can be seen from this country’s past and the past (and some current) environments of this world - slavery. The sloths become the masters, and the elite liberals will become the Gestapo Capos.
You are right. No humans worth the name would sit still for abject serfdom for VERY long... especially people with a hard-won and proud tradition of individual autonomy and personal freedom.
Now though, so much is new and different... socially and in terms of technology that I’d hesitate to make a direct comparison to the rejection of servitude as it was accomplished historically.
I always wonder about this.
At this point, what would it take for a whole class of disaffected and angry citizens to reclaim their rights?
We all have personal experience of enjoying and possessing these things AND in some cases, ourselves fought for or have relatives who fought to safeguard them. It’s not as though we would be breaking new ground and overthrowing an entrenched dynastic tradition.
Why are SO many Americans permitting themselves to be SO crudely and thoroughly subdued?
Where did this naïve and docile disregard for our personal freedoms originate?
