Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman said Wednesday that Israel should focus on making new allies as opposed to relying solely on its relationship with the United States.
During a speech given at the Sderot Conference, Liberman stressed the importance of not putting too much focus on America as Israel's main ally. "For many years Israel's foreign policy was one directional towards Washington, but my policy has many more directions."
Liberman, who returned to his post last week after being acquitted of fraud charges, said "the Americans today are dealing with too many challenges and I wouldn't want to be in their place. They are busy in Iran and North Korea and also have economic and immigration problems."
Liberman also attacked the treatment of Israel at the UN: "If i were to take the simplest statistic...since the founding of the security council there were 49 condemnations against Israel and only 3 against Iran."

now that Israel is sitting on a mother lode of gas reserves, new allies should be easy to rent
Democrat delegates booing God and Israel at the 2012 DNC convention.
They just figured that out? I knew it as of November 2008.
Didn’t we all.
Israel has no friend with the Muslim in the WH.
Or better yet, it’s time for the US to look for allies in the Middle East other than Israel.
Hint: We don’t have any, and we never will, despite the president’s cringing before all and sundry and crawling on his belly to appease Moslems everywhere.
What can Israel do, now that terrorists have seized control of the White House. It’s like an episode of ‘24’ or the film ‘White House Down’, except this was done via election. Israel should look to India, China and Russia in that order.
Smart move. Relying on the US to defend you at this point is a fool’s bet. Even after Obama leaves, he will have so decimated our military it will be decades before we’re up to the task again, if ever.
Yup. Until Obama is gone.
The Jews have faced the Egyptians, the Assyrians, the Babylonians, the Romans, and the Nazis. They were scattered to the winds for close to two thousand years only to gather once again on the same plot of land.
They can surely bide their time for three years!
We can’t count on the US to defend the US. These days there is nothing you can count on.
Israel has a trump card no one, not even the United States, has full assurance of - protection provided by Almighty God. A tiny nation that stands alone without a true friend in the world that continues to defy the odds even to survive. This Yahweh enjoys overcoming unbeatable odds and He no doubt will demonstrate it again.
Well, I just hope as Netanyahu climbs off our shoulders he has the good grace to also leave our checkbook.
Amen!

Well, it’s a good idea to broaden their base of allies for sure. But, I’m having trouble figuring out who those might be. The Saudis, Kuwaitj, Emirates, Jordanians, Turkey, others, are scared poopless that Iran will become a nuclear power. But, if/when it becomes show-time I seriously doubt that any of them would align with Israel. But shall more than likely see.....
And for Jewish-Americans to look for a better party to support.
They, like black Americans, women, Hispanics, the elderly and youths, continue to hook-up with the party that has none of their true best interests at heart.
Joe Lieberman got KICKED OUT of the DNC and yet he still gives them his allegiance.
Yahweh has a penchant for waiting until you are totally down, before stepping in to lift you up. At least that’s how it seems when you’re in trouble. He does watch over the faithful.
Once you’re down, and it’s apparent to you that you can’t do it on your own, God often steps in to inspire you to do what you know to be right, and He will do the rest.
The United States may be coming to such a moment. Lets hope we don’t miss it.
It’s revival time...
Joe Lieberman? Could you at least read the first four words of the first sentence of the article?
