A Christian missionary doing door-to-door witnessing?

Either that, or street vermin not worth the air IT breathes. You make the call.

From another Source: Why did he stab his father with a knife, when he had a gun? Odd.

Another article:
Deeds critically wounded; son dead from gunshot

http://www.timesdispatch.com/news/state-regional/government-politics/sen-deeds-critically-wounded-son-dead-from-gunshot-wound/article_431e61ca-5128-11e3-944a-001a4bcf6878.html

end of article:
Deeds and his first wife, Pamela Kay Miller, had four children: Amanda,, Rebecca, Gus, and Susannah. Amanda, a graduate of the University of Virginia, and Gus, then a junior at the College of William and Mary, took time off to join their father on the trail in 2009.
Deeds and his first wife divorced in 2010. The Washington Post reported at the time that the marriage was “a casualty of a nearly 20-year pursuit of a lifelong ambition that kept him away from home.”
Deeds married Siobhan Gilbride Lomax of Lexington in June 2012.

When it was first reported, without any information my thoughts were the son stabbed the Dad and then was shot.

Guess I was wrong on that.

Damn. Don’t know the guy, heard that his policies were bad, but still. Prayers for his recovery and for some sort of peace after he finds out about his son. :(

Horrible..mental issues usually appear at his sons age, late teens/early 20’s.
Just speculating but my brother loses it when the issue of him getting help has come up.

I noted this:

Del. David Toscano, Charlottesville Democrat, said in a statement that Mr. Deeds is in critical condition at the UVA hospital, is being closely monitored and is in intensive care.

“This is a terrible tragedy,” Mr. Toscano said. “Senator Deeds was very close to his son Gus, and has taken herculean efforts to help him over the years.”

Probably had a very difficult son, maybe drugs, have no idea yet. It has to be horrid.

Odd that the son was shot and the Senator was stabbed?

Who attacks a grown man with a knife when he’s carrying a gun?

This is horrible.

Prayers for all of this poor family.

No matter how much time passes, there is something particularly painful about losing a loved one to suicide that remains with the ones left behind.

May God be with all of the family and friends who are touched by this terrible tragedy.

“Stunning news from Bath County. I am praying for @CreighDeeds and his family at this very, very difficult time,” Sen. Mark Warner wrote on Twitter.

“My thoughts and prayers are with @CreighDeeds and his family today,” wrote Rep. Bobby Scott on Twitter.

Virginia State Police are still on the scene after first receiving a call around 7:25 a.m.

The investigation remains ongoing at this time by the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation’s Salem Field Office.

Virginia State Police will hold a press conference with more details at noon. NBC12 will have a crew to cover the developments and will update on-air and online.
