"19-year-old charged in Grand Forks robberies would get 4 years in plea deal"

One man is dead, three are arrested and a cancer patient is shaken up after two men broke into his Pine County farmhouse around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.
Police say the men, who were just out of jail, broke into 75-year-old Charles Carlson's home on Fox Road near Sandstone. Both men have long criminal histories and one had a gun.
Carlson struggled with the intruder and managed to grab his own gun. He shot one of the intruders, 23-year-old Gypsy Watts, who died at the scene.
Pine County Sheriff Robin Cole tells KSTP, Watts along with the other three suspects, went to Carlson's farm to steal his painkillers that he takes for pain associated with his terminal cancer.
The other three suspects were on the run until deputies caught up with them behind a business in Sandstone.
Deputies and investigators searched the area for the second suspect with help from a Minnesota State Patrol helicopter and infrared equipment. That suspect and two other accomplices are in custody. Their names have not yet been released.
Carlson is cooperating with investigators and is not likely to face legal consequences.
The County Attorney will review the case to see if it fits the Castle Doctrine of Self Defense.
Police say there is no threat to public safety.

Yep, if the guy had been cured of Cancer instead of taking the pain pills, all would be well.

Today more than ever thugs are taking a huge chance breaking into a home. Homeowners are fighting back. Holds true in my house.

It occurs to me...
What with Obongocare creating all sorts of opportunities for hackers, identity thieves, and scammers, could it be that scumbags might get access to people’s medical records for the specific purpose of finding victims that might have desirable drugs in their homes?
Pain killer abuse is rampant here. Meth and Oxy are the white man’s Crack. A friend had his Oxy stolen and there was no sign of a break-in. Scary.
Regardless of Obamacare, my first suspect would be the local pharmacy clerk. The only one with immediate, first hand knowledge of what drugs you just picked up and took home.

yes, they will be selling information about people that are taking oxys, etc. Very simple, since these gub'mint employees will have access to a lot of information, they'll know what people are being treated for, age, how many people live at the address (armed? -did they answer that question on the form from the doctor?.
It will be easier than scheduling the cable guy
Just wait until everyone's medical records are in a government database and the Obamacare Acorn operatives can get access to it and find out who's got what.

I still prefer the clarity of a newly-elected Arizona Maricopa County prosecutor, who back in the 1970s, when asked what somebody should do if a person breaks into their home, succinctly replied:
“You shoot the S.O.B.” (He did not use the abbreviation.)
And that has pretty much been the law there ever since.
