Historically Black College Blames Obamacare for Canceling Students’ Insurance (Bowie State)

The students at Bowie State University, a historically black college in Maryland, have Obamacare to thank for the cancellation of their student insurance plans. As Campus Reform reports, Bowie State cites a jaw-dropping increase in student premiums as necessitating the cancellations:
The official website for Bowie State, a Maryland public school less than an hour's drive from Washington D.C., explains that Obamacare's new regulations would force the cost of the insurance to rise from $50 to $900 a semester.
"Bowie State University has suspended offering health insurance for domestic students for the 2013-2014 academic year," states the school's official website. "Due to new requirements of the Affordable Care Act which will go into effect on January 1, 2014, the cost of insurance for domestic students will increase to approximately $1800 per year."
As critics of Obamacare have been warning all along, the weight of this massive transfer of wealth will fall most heavily on the younger generation.

Being students, I would assume they are under 26 and would be covered under their parents plans in most cases under the ACA. Makes me think someone is trying to make a mountain out of a molehill. In no way am I in favor of Oblamacare but I think some folks are jumping the shark on every little thing.
