Muslim groups may be out of luck, in getting Islamic religious holidays included in the upcoming Montgomery County school calendar.

School board members are scheduled to consider next year's calendar at their meeting today. And school officials are ready to present a report showing only a small uptick in absenteeism on the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.
Adding a holiday to the school calendar typically requires a showing that large numbers of students and faculty will take the day off. Schooll officials say they can't simply declare a "day off" for a religious holiday.
Muslim leaders have argued that students get Christian and Jewish holidays off, and it's just fair to include Islamic holidays, as well.

City Data claims that 4% of Montgomery County residents are Muslim. This compares to over 18% Jewish. I think it will be an uphill battle with a calendar already over-loaded.
I have also read though that as much as 60% of the population do not actively practice their faith or adhere to a congregation. The one thing Montgomery Countians have in common is their blind love of Democrat politicians. Maybe the holidays should only be allowed to honor our glorious beneficent overlords.
