Low Obamacare Enrollment More Proof of a ‘Disaster’ (When ObamaCare Meets 'berg, Epic Fail haPPens)
Yahoo! News ^ | Eric Pianin, Brianna Ehley - The Fiscal Times

Before Healthcare.gov’s troubled launch on Oct. 1, the White House estimated nearly 500,000 people would enroll in the Obamacare health exchanges within the first month and an estimated 7 million were expected to gain private coverage by the end of March, when the open-enrollment period is scheduled to end.

Now – even before the administration can deliver on its promise to release an official head count of how many people have enrolled for insurance coverage in the first full month of operations – insurance industry analysts on Monday released figures showing the government has signed up a mere fraction of Americans it had hoped to recruit in October.

Robert Laszewski, a consultant to many major insurance companies, said in an interview that about 50,000 people have signed up for coverage in the 36 states that have federally designed insurance markets – or about 10 percent of the overall goal for the first month. That figure closely matches the 40,000 to 50,000 enrollments reported by The Wall Street Journal on Monday afternoon. Laszewski based his estimate on the number of completed transactions between individuals and their families and insurance companies.

At the same time, Avalere Health, a health care consulting firm in Washington D.C., reported that 14 state exchanges have met just 3 percent of their enrollment goals for 2014. That means that 49,100 people have enrolled out of a targeted 1.4 million. This figure does not include data from California, Massachusetts and Oregon, which has not yet been released.

They just need to run those numbers past the top bean-counters at the BLS...the same folks that give us unemployment numbers. They'll magically improve.

Maybe Moochelle and Barry can get Leo to hold a banner supporting ObamaCare in the next Titanic remake... we can all gasp as it slowly slips below the waves.. with obamacare handcuffed to the railing.

They just don’t make epic failures like they used to.. to call it a train wreck is to sully the safety record of the railroad industry. :-}

Obamacare = one part Chicago-styled politics + one part Solyndra + one part Big Labor + one part Detroit.

Of course it'll work just fine.

And this slow rate will continue. Let them cancel the whole mess.

The regime is counting as ‘signed-up’ what’s in the shopping cart as well as paid for. The e-commerce industry metric for shopping carts that end up as purchases is 33%.

Just wait until they eventually get the website to actually work.
THEN watch what happens when people find out how much this ‘free’ healthcare is gonna cost them.................

Since Bill Clinton has now told Obama to keep his Obamacare promises, it has become a battle of the fingers... the bony index vs the middle.

How many of these so-called ‘sign-ups’ are duplicates from people trying over and over and over again to use the system and eventually gave up? And the ones who went thru the website, then gave up, then went to the phone process and did it all over again?...............

The CACA © (Can’t Afford Care Act) is working perfectly and exactly as intended.

This is a classic implementation of the Cloward & Priven strategy.

They have boxed us in with “The Law Of The Land” (even though it has been unconstitutionally modified numerous times by our Marxist president).

Right now even if Obunghole, congress and the MSM wanted to halt it for a year, millions of policies have already been canceled and of course there are GOVERNMENT laws preventing them from just being immediately reestablished.

So, you destroy the market. You know there are laws preventing the market from recovering. You have trapped people without insurance therefore here comes the Cloward & Piven strategy where the low/no information voters will DEMAND OstinkHole do something, anything and shazam, we have single payer socialized medicine which was the original end game.

Therefore CACA © is working perfectly and the GOP is falling for this hook line and sinker.

a failure to those who can’t open their eyes and see that the real reason we have being pushed onto socialist health care is for the single payer, the national health service , socialism .

Expand Medicaid and then when they have the numbers for that they will revert to the national Govt run socialist health care.

Guess what? We don’t need a king in the U.S.A. People do not have to enroll in The First Dictator’s wet dream of socialized medicine.

Emergency rooms will treat the sick, just as they have been doing for a hundred years. Your doctor will take care of you if you pay in cash, thus saving the outrageous government grab of your paycheck for exorbitant ObamaCare premiums.

Smart people will figure out how to get around the outrageous 10,000 pages of regulations that will swamp this nightmare. Have faith.

I think that ship has sailed, as far as this failing and leading to single-payer. That might have been the plan BEFORE the disastrous roll-out, but this has not just failed, but failed so unprecedentedly, so spectacularly, and been ridiculed so unmercifully, that instead of crying out for single-payer, I think most Americans are wishing the government would just get lost.

As FReeper HiTechRedNeck put it on another thread, the planners wanted “a soft fail, not a spectacular fall off the edge of the aircraft carrier fail.”

Medicaid is already there. Once enough on Medicaid, they will merge medicare and medicaid and that will be the single payer option.
