The best donuts I ever had was when I was a kid, it was called Ted’s Dutch-Made Donuts on 6th street in Irving TX
When he retired, the donut world just crumbled.

I've got to watch my blood lipids and triglycerides as I have cardio-vascular problems. Haven't had a donut in, what, 15 years or so. Every now and then, I get a huge craving for one of those long john's with chocolate icing on the top and vanilla creme in the middle. The nearby Stan the DonutMan makes a long john with vanilla frosting on the inside. Memorable.
I'm sure beating heroin is tough but that long john must be up there. I swear, sometimes I hear it calling my name...

Spudnuts...growing up kids would sell these on Saturday mornings, from their bicycles, door to door. 25¢ per waxed paper bag...still warm. Nothing better to watch cartoons by. Mom and Dad would leave the quarter on the entry table, before going to bed Friday night...so we wouldn’t wake them Saturday morning.
