On Tuesday, five Colorado counties voted to approve the 51st State Initiative, directing county officials to explore secession from the state, the Denver Post reported.
Voters in Kit Carson, Washington, Phillips, Cheyenne, and Yuma counties approved the measure, while voters in Weld, Moffat, Elbert, Lincoln, Sedgwick and Logan counties said no.
"Weld County voters said this is an option we shouldn't pursue and we won't pursue it," said Weld county Commissioner Sean Conway. "But we will continue to look at the problems of the urban and rural divide in this state."
Fort Lupton Mayor Tommy Holton acknowledged Tuesday that secession probably would not succeed, but would help shed light on grievances held by many in rural Colorado.
"We not only want to be at the table," he said, "but we want a voice at the table as well."
Proponents of secession are extremely unhappy with liberal policies passed by the state legislature. New laws include stricter gun control and standards for renewable energy. Earlier this year, two Democrats were recalled over the state's new gun laws.
"The heart of the 51st State Initiative is simple: We just want to be left alone to live our lives without heavy-handed restrictions from the state Capitol," said Jeffrey Hare, an advocate for secession.

I did not post the entire article. At the bottom of the article was a note that it had previously been reported as 6 and corrected to 5 counties. Wonder if there were some “games” going on about the counting? hee hee hee

What of they vote to secede but the State of Colorado won’t let them? Then what?
Six voted against. It was a total of eleven counties making the vote.

We simply need to trevive the 3/5 clause of the constitution...
Governemt Welfare slaves should only count as 3/5ths a person when apportioning seats in the house...
The control freak statists are using dependent slaves (mainly in urban areas) as a wedge to their own power...
Maybe we should just re-define slave as someone who is “Owned” by a government instutuion and not just by another person...
Some peopel think we need another American Revolution and that is true, but first we need another civil war to free the slaves of the big government...

Colo. is LOST, given the number of counties that didn't vote and the number that voted against secession.

I have previously stated on FR that once we were a nation with free states and slave states being then designated largely by race. But now we are again a nation of Free State and Slave States, the slave being defined by Universal Slavery to the State.
Question is, Would we want them back?

I doubt it.
Texas can choose to divide into 2 more states. But no one in Texas would want to do that.
Secede? There are estimates that about 25% of the state would vote for just that. Which I think would be a mistake.
If TX did secede, it would trigger about 10 more states that would bolt. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I pray we can recover the control of it all.
