Neville Chamberlain:
If we generalize about Germans then we’re unnecessarily making enemies of millions of very decent people who have historically been our good friends. Neutralize their leadership and National Socialism would simply fade away (or, better yet, use intel resource to get them to destroy each other).

I felt the same way about Muslims until I hired a young man in Bangladesh who happened to be Muslim (and an amazingly skilled Oracle database administrator, BTW, which was quite an accomplishment).

One day it occurred to me that he might need a new laptop computer and I asked him what he wanted most .. his answer .. "Peace for all men". At that instant I could not longer generalize about Muslims.

And just today I was watching a TV program about how the nation of Turkey joined the modern world. There are millions of Muslims who simply are not radical, and I'll no more generalize about religion than I will about race - you just end up throwing out too many babies with the proverbial bath water.
