Cuccinelli Only the Latest Conservative Candidate Targeted by G.O.P.
American Thinker ^ | 11/9/2013 | Lee Cary

The Republican establishment continues to undercut the campaigns of conservative candidates.  Ken Cuccinelli was just the latest.

In early 2013, a Texas-based Tea Party website posted a series of articles that documented how the G.O.P. establishment, at the county, state and national levels, had worked against six candidates supported by Tea Party organizations -- five running for House seats, and one G.O.P. nominee for a U.S. Senate seat.

A seventh case detailed how the Chair of the Illinois State Republican Central Committee was chosen. It illustrates the "Illinois Combine" - the bipartisan collaborative formula going national these days.

The introductions for each installment, plus portions of the conclusions, are posted below beneath the links.

In three of the seven cases (2, 3, & 4) the real names of the candidates were withheld at their request.

I wrote all of the articles after speaking with the candidates and/or their campaign chair.

What the GOP did to Jackson, a black conservative candidate running for Lt. Gov in VA, and his staff, was astoundingly vicious. This was a serious attempt to kill the TEA Party movement within the ranks. Successful? Time will tell...

Don’t forget Tom Mclintock during the CA recall of Gray Davis. He was a solid conservative who had a prescription for their woes. Arnold Schwartzeneggar was recruited by the national party. We know how that turned out.

The GOP excuse at the time was that we needed Arnold’s star power to beat Bustemante. Problem for their logic is that Bustemante even lost to Tom Mclintock, who came in second.

The GOP is not the conservative’s friend.

I think it is safe to say that you can eliminate ‘rino’ from your sentence.

Yes-sir-ree, gotta change the party from within, yep.

I'm pretty torn with the notion of a third party, but gotta tell’ya, changing the party can take YEARS...if at all.

Kind of a rock and a hard place.

The GOP is pushing Christie real hard. Not sure bout y'all, but ol Servantboy’s not gonna push the lever for this chubby yankee. Not a chance.

Karl Rove is in North Carolina to fund raise for a liberal Republican candidate in a crowded primary field against the more conservative candidates, all running with hopes of replacing Democrat Senator Kay Hagan.

http://blogs.fayobserver.com/peoplesbusiness/November-2013/Former-Bush-strategist-Karl-Rove-visit-Fayettevill

Thom Tillis, the liberal Republican Rove is supporting, among other liberal things, did this:

“In a stunning move that left political pundits scratching their heads, NC House Speaker Thom Tillis, a Mecklenburg Republican, announced today that the GOP has signed off on a power-sharing agreement with Democrats, cutting short the Republican Party’s historic gains at the polls this past November.

“It’s called reaching across the aisle,” said Tillis. “It’s easy to talk the talk on compromise; we’re walking the walk. I understand that some critics will squawk, but there’s no reason to think we still can’t accomplish what the voters sent us here to do.”

In other words, the Republicans won a huge majority, but this weener immediately undermined them. Once again, a liberal Republican joining with Democrats to betray conservative Republicans.

And Karl Rove is all in favor of that.

Seriously, when conservatives do get power, Karl Rove should be on a street corner selling pencils, as “personna non grata” in Washington. As mercenary as he is, he will likely go work for the Democrats, if they will have him.

Yeah, whatever happened to "next in line"? Based on that, it should be Santorum's, Gingrich's or even Huckabee's turn.

I’m in Virginia, and still furious over this election. Can you go a bit into detail as to what the GOP did to Jackson? I would like to know.

The other night, I saw Ann Coulter condescendingly tell Hannity that she “loves” Jackson, but “we have GOT to stop running pastors for office.”

I live in Virginia. I am a Free Republic, Tea Party Conservative. And I am the Chairman of a County Republican Committee.

I desparately need conservatives to join my committee and help me promote conservatives policies.

It seems to me that too many people whine about the country, but are not willing to do anything to resist the evil people on the left.

Ok—How long do Conservative need to hold on to the Reagan myth before they wake up and form a new party. Libery demands that such abuse needs to stop. Pull out all conservative voters and money and watch the RINOs scream. They better start liking tea or they can wither on the vine. The Progressives (There are no Democrats anymore) will keep funding 3rd parties like Libertarians to drain away votes—why not beat them by mounting a party that can win a majority vote! Let the RINOs have their GOP—a ghost party.

Coulter, like Scarborough, has decided there is no money in representing conservatives...
From people near the Jackson campaign, I hear the GOP would rather join the DNC in name rather than support a conservative candidate..

Very good point, LB... We are told all the time that 3rd parties are wasted votes and bad, but the socialists use 3rd parties to their benefit all the time!!

Ann Coulter is a New England Liberal. Hannity is nearly a Long Island Liberal, giving these RINOs a daily platform
