Fear-mongering?

Maybe we should worry?

I still don't know what to think about this sometimes.

Please keep in clarity what is happening: Japan was one of the last big nuclear nations, with quite a bit of power coming from those reactors. It has been the clearly stated goal of many to see every single nuclear reactor around the planet shut down.

And nine times out of ten, you compare the names behind a report, and you’ll find their anti-nuke testimony all over the web.

But of course, they’re the ONLY ones who aren’t blind and can see it clearly... *sigh*

I’ll take any house within 20 miles of the nuclear plant and perfectly enjoy my long life.

I ran across this article about Fukushima not too long ago... very interesting.

A giant solar flare disables all airliners currently in the air. They all crash. Millions die in the space of a few minutes. Together with that, there is a magnitude 14 earthquake that collapses all hydroelectric dams on Earth at the same time. Dozens of cities are wiped out and billions die. All chemical plants are also wrecked and the atmosphere is polluted beyond redemption. All life on Earth ends.

Now, if that isn't terrifying, I don't know what is. And it is equally plausible.

I started reading the article and it started sounding like one of the “top global warming scientist’s” total doom and gloom type of bullchit. So I looked at the so called “scientist” whose claims they are - David Suzuki is the equivalent of Paul Ehrlich. You know, the one that said that the human population of the earth would be extinct by 2000 from starvation... among many other “globull warming/cooling/freezing” diatribes that have all been proven to be total... ummm, being charitable- hocum.

If David Suzuki, the “top scientist” said that the sky was blue or that the sun would rise in the morning, I’d go outside and double check because there is probably close to 99% chance he’d be wrong about both things.

So, consider the source. If David Suzuki says Fukushima is a disaster, I’m pretty well convinced that it’s probably OK and not much at all is wrong, so I can put it on my list of vacation destination spots. Remind me again how many people have died from the nuclear reactor “disaster” at Fukushima, as opposed to the number of people who have died due to medical malpractice and mis-prescribing or pharmaceutical side effects. Or even freezing weather since the globull warming alarmists have made heating costs skyrocket with their “green energy” scams.

[By the way, what *was* the population of the world when Paul Ehrlich was ranting and raving back in the 70’s about human extinction and what’s the population now? Quod erat demonstrandum.]

Few things will bring out “the stoopid” in massive quantities as quickly and broadly as sprinklng a
“news report” with weasel words like “radioactive”,
“reactor”, “disaster” etc. etc.

Fukushima is a danger to people who live within perhaps
50-100 miles. It’s a cause for concern for the rest of
Japan. For the rest of the world and for the US specifically it poses at most a statistical increase in
the chances of someone developing cancer that they may
not otherwise develop. Americans in general and “YOU” specifically...as in Free Repulic reader....can do far more to affect your lifespan and your risk of dying prematurely by eating right, exercising and limiting the amount of miles you travel in private vehicles than ANYTHING coming from Fukushima can do to harm you.

This “top scientist” David Suzuki, is a very far leftist...he is about as phony as Al Gore, I won’t believe anything his say. He is not respected here in Oz.

Yeah bring in the international experts. That’ll do the trick. Maybe the UN can take over the situation. Or maybe barry can go there and fix things. Yeah, send barry. Let him flap his gums and ears to disperse the radiation.
