To the millions of Americans who have received letters from your insurance company, explaining that the plan you were on, and incidentally liked, has been canceled. President Obama has a few words for you. He's sorry you are losing your insurance. He wanted you to change insurance plans because you wanted to, not because his administration forced you into making the move. If he is really sorry, he has an unusual way of showing his sympathy. He sounds like he is making excuses, more than anything else.
The Hill - President Obama on Thursday apologized to Americans who are losing their healthcare coverage despite his promise that if individuals liked their plans, they could keep them under ObamaCare.Let's recap for a moment. Millions of Americans have long purchased health insurance through the individual market. These millions of Americans have been somewhat happy with the plans they have purchased, but because of the new regulations stemming from Obamacare, those plans have been canceled. Instead of the plans they liked and were happy to pay for, these millions of Americans are now being forced to choose a plan that costs more, covers less, but offers benefits they neither need, or want. Where is the rightness in that? And does President Obama really believe an apology can make it all better?"I am sorry that they are finding themselves in this situation based on assurances they got from me," the president told NBC News.
"We've got to work hard to make sure that they know we hear them and we are going to do everything we can to deal with folks who find themselves in a tough position as a consequence of this."
I again go back to the President's own words. They are in bold in the quote below.
The White House fought back by noting that only a small slice of the population purchased their own insurance rather than receiving it through their work or federal programs like Medicare and Medicaid and that those consumers were accustomed to "upheavals in the market."Ah, I see said the blind man. This is all for our own good and we just don't know it yet. Excuse me for stating the obvious, but Obama is trying to put a spin on this that defies even the most bizarre logic. He says he is protecting Americans from further upheavals in the insurance marketplace by subjecting them to an upheaval in the insurance marketplace. Before the implementation of ObamaCare, only a small percentage of private insurance buyers kept the same plan from year to year.
Obama on Thursday noted plans that seemed good at present might leave consumers vulnerable.
"The fact of the matter is that a whole lot of people who were in this individual market, who were buying health care on their own, because they're not gettin' it through their employer, they might be happy with it this year, and then suddenly next year, the cost got jacked up by 15 percent to 20 percent," Obama said.
Does President Obama really believe Americans are so naive that they will buy the excuse that to protect them from the changing insurance marketplace, they have to force them into purchasing health insurance plans that are more expensive? So much more expensive that some people are having to make the hard choice of not purchasing another plan because they simply can not afford the Obamacare math? Someone a lot smarter than myself is going to have to explain how this is a good thing.
President Obama may be sorry, but it's not because millions of Americans are losing their health insurance. He clearly knew that was going to happen. It was a designed and planned move. It may be progressing faster than he and his liberal friends had counted on, but it was a planned move, nonetheless. I think we are past the point where Americans need to wake up and realize they were sold a bill of goods when they voted for Barack Obama. The rotten core is starting to show itself for just how black it really is.
He’s one sorry SOB all right.
What he really means is, “You can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.”
he’s not sorry for anyone losing their health insurance or being hit with life-changing premium increases
because he isn’t losing his insurance and his voodoo-loving MIL isn’t losing hers either
he has used his autopen and numerous Friday afternoon executive decrees to singlehandedly “nullify” the “law of the land” for favored minions and campaign donors so they won’t lose theirs
he is only sorry because his polls are down
he got caught in a lie and the dang rasists wont let him bluster, bluff, shuck, or jive out of it
How many divisions do the sole proprietors have?
NO HE'S NOT SORRY
Problems are intentional. This is the first step toward total government control of you health. You can't simply rplace what we have now that works. You have to break it first. Destroy it completely second, and then pu in the government total control next, This is step one and two.
Whats wrong with the job-holding taxpayers of this country saying to Obama: “We’re sorry your only accomplishment as President didn’t work out.”
Valerie told him that his poll numbers don’t look so hot. Go say something. Here read this but don’t mean it.
That's because he IS making excuses, more than anything else.
Barry, just say, “Look, America, I lied to you because I knew obamacare would never pass if I told the truth. That’s why I put that “Period.” in my statement. I knew I couldn’t complete the sentence the way I am saying it today.
But I can’t help lying. It’s just who I am.”
There, fixed it.
No.
He’s not sorry. He’s not sorry you are in the situation. He’s sorry that you believe you’re in the situation because of something he said.
And he’s not sorry about what he’s said. He’s sorry that you believe you have found yourself in the position and have connected that to him.
These are all different things. Effectively, he’s sorry that he’s caught.
Why would the freaking federal government have any power over my choice of insurance coverage?
Where are all the bumper stickers that used to be on the cars of abortion rights liberals what said: GOVERNMENT HANDS OFF MY BODY!!!
I realized recently there are two meanings of Sorry:
Def 1) I’m sorry about what happened and if there is something I could do about it I would do that to correct my mistake
Def 2) Sorry = tough s—t get over it
We’re getting number 2 from Obama, literally
Obama says “No one is madder than me that you lost your health insurance.”
What is he going to do about it?
Absolutely nothing!
“Obama’s Sorry” enough said!
Saw a fellow on TV (Fox - Megyn Kelly) last night who has cancer. His “substandard” insurance, which was paying his meds, medical devices and other bills (just about all of them, he said), had his insurance canceled. His policy has been $181. The new Obamacare compliant policy, was $1,500 per month in premiums and had a $13,000 deductible, requiring $31,000 out of pocket with this policy over a year’s time before any bills would be paid by insurance. This man said he’s prayed about it and he will NOT be paying the $1,500 a month, but will pay the fine. The money is just too much, will cause too much of a burden on his family and he will “let nature take it’s course” where he is concerned. It was pretty powerful, watching this man doing what was best for his family and by doing so, being sentenced to death by cancer under Obamacare’s “better-for-you” insurance. Asked about Obama’s “apology”, this man said it was insulting.
