HEALTH CARE FOR THE PUSHY. ... Ann Coulter
Ann Coulter Dot Com ^ | 6 Nov 2013 | Ann Coulter

So now it turns out Obama knew that 93 million Americans would have their health insurance canceled the whole time he was claiming, "If you like your insurance, you can keep it. Period."

Obama lied. Period. "Hope and Change" was actually "A Sucker Is Born Every Minute."

Even without the 2010 Health and Human Services (HHS) report admitting that 93 million Americans would lose their health insurance, anyone with half a brain (which is a pre-existing condition) knew that millions of Americans would be thrown off their insurance plans under Obamacare. Under the law, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is to determine what every health insurance plan must cover -- and any plans that don't are illegal.

As a result, gay guys are now going to be forced to buy plans that cover maternity care. Mormons will have to buy plans that cover gambling addiction therapy. Elderly couples can buy only insurance that includes pediatric dental care. Catholic hospitals will be required to provide birth control and abortions.

Our federal overseers, led by the arrogant and smug gender-feminist Sebelius, know what's best for us. (Which is so nice of her since, as she recently pointed out, she doesn't work for us.) Her idea of flexibility is not requiring Catholic priests to perform abortions. Not yet, anyway.

Sebelius continues to push the theme that "only" those who are individually insured are being affected by cancellations/rate increases, etc. She says that those who have group insurance (i.e., those working for larger companies), will not be affected.

But, what happens to those people who change jobs, lose their jobs, or their company goes bankrupt, etc. Those people will have to get new insurance... won't they? They might get group insurance at their other company, or they might be forced to get individual plans.

I think a lot more Americans will be adversely affected by ObamaCare than the Administration realizes... or currently admits!

Everyone who retires early will also be faced with the individual plan issue.

I have hated the very idea of any hint of a government-run solution to health care, but it seems to me that Congress could amend the law so that all of these plans do not have to cover things that people obviously don't need. I would rather it be repealed than fixed, but it surprises me that no one ever suggests this option.

The reason why the plans are "one size fits all" is because they are being used as subsidies. Men are paying for maternity care to help reduce the cost of insurance for women. Young people are being forced to buy insurance so that the premium money is used to subsidize the elderly, or illegals.

If people were allowed to buy insurance that fits their needs, there wouldn't be enough pay for the insurance for certain groups of people (who also happen to be big Obama supporters). That is, YOU are being forced to buy a Cadillac-type plan so that a person with a pre-existing illness - i.e. AIDS, will get low-cost insurance.

ObamaCare is nothing more than a redistribution of wealth.

<<No group of government bureaucrats can substitute for hundreds of millions of Americans making individual choices about their own lives and their own health.<<

In the Soviet Union, a small politburo made broad brush decisions for hundreds of millions and left the details to administrators.

Here, the process is much different.

In in the US, one president and 535 members of congress make broad brush decisions for hundreds of millions and leave the details to administrators.

When the 1 year waiver for large group plans expires, all of those plans will fall under the same crap that individual plans are suffering from. My group plan, (10,000 employees), has already been adjusted to the new requirements. While my portion of the premiums only went up 40%, the deductible doubled, and the out of pocket tripled. I will not be going to a doctor at all. The waivers were illegally issued to keep the number of outraged working people as low as they could for the 2014 mid-terms. Single payer and taxing the employer’s contribution as income for the employee are just around the corner. Let the layoffs continue! What a cluster this hope and change has been from the beginning.

I do understand that, but the Dems are going to suffer at the box office when the people understand that they are being used in this fundamentally unfair way. I do not think the Dems want to “go down with the ship” just to save Obama’s signature program. Obama does not have to run for office again. They do.

I'm afraid I did not make it clear to whom I was referring. The Republicans have been trying to pass legislation about Obamacare. I was thinking that, since the Dems seem to be running scared after their narrow victory in Virginia, they would be falling all over themselves to appear that they are offering solutions.

The collective resources are gathered via what is known as affordable care and then distributed to those that require medical attention. (except to those deemed un worthy)

From each according to his means, to each according to his needs

The penalty for the lies and deceit should be death. No fixing, no mediation, just death and then once the trash is dead and gone, renewal

They really can’t. Those changes would mean that on its face 0bamaCare would not work, that there was no point in any of it. Making those changes would cause it to collapse immediately and be an admission that it was a fraud from the start.
