Well that did not take long, but he will be back after a few mea culpas.
Jim Bequette is feeling some heat.
I’m sure he’ll be scooped up by the Whitehouse media machine soon enough.
Ping.
Good for them!
I do appreciate that action.
It's heresy against the Constitution you Dopes. It's the Constitution,
not ideas from some neighborhood restrictions guide for dummies!
Metcalf himself takes responsibility for FOPA. That’s enough to consign him to the dust bin of traitors.
People make mistakes. It is how they deal with those mistakes that matters. G&A has dealt with their mistake well. Kudos.
Metcalf? Well, some “mistakes” are beyond the pale. You’re done in the firearm industry, turncoat. /spit
he’ll become the left’s posterboy for “sensible” “gun control”.
To the author:
Blow me. You scape goated the guy and I’m not a chump.
F.A.G.S.
The issued apology rings hollow. The Quislings over at G&A merrily published the article in the first place, obviously the author’s sentiments had to have appealed to the editors to some extent.
Understandable, I am sure. In this day and age it just isn’t fashionable to support the constitution. Why, imagine how much easier it would be for magazine editors and publishers if their reading public would just “get over” the second amendment and embrace “reasonable” gun laws. If those bitter clingers could just embrace enlightened 21st century tyranny then the folks over at G&A could write about more socially acceptable topics like antique non-firing firearm replicas and airsoft.
Just imagine how hard it must be for the writers, editors and publishers at a gun magazine - in the liberal world of print media they’re probably less well-respected and less tolerated than pornographers. I’m sure that hurts their tender feelings to no end, having other media personages associate them with those backwards “constitution fanatics”.
I’m sure Mr. Metcalf will be quietly welcomed back into the fold before too long. Years of professional relationship and friendly socializing aren’t going to be outweighed by little things like lost business, tarnished image, and outrage from honest Americans.

I respond as Moosejaw
I’ve read G&A for years, though not a subscriber, and with that Dick’s articles. I was surprised to see this from him and maybe I missed something over the years but IMO this deserved a good, hard firing. As stated above, this article didn’t accidentally find its way into the mag without anyone else’s knowledge. The management and editorial staff need to bear some of this themselves. I won’t be buying any more G&A. They can choke on it. Something better is lining up to take their place and they’ll get my money.
I sent G & A an email and told them to cancel my subscription. They responded and said my subscription ran out in January and that’s it. I wouldn’t renew just because of their poor customer relations.
It is still a commie rag owned and marketed by some groups and it should be mandated as GUNS AND AMMO MUST BE BANNED because that is all G&A is about.
I think that I am older than Metcalf, but maybe his thinking is not as clear as it was in past years?
FLASH: Dick Metcalf axed from Guns & Ammo
November 6, 2013
Dick Metcalf, a long-time gun writer and editor of Guns & Ammo magazine, was unceremoniously fired today.
His termination comes on the heels of his column in the latest issue of that gun mag, in which he discusses his approval of further regulations of Second Amendment Rights.
I believe in the Second Amendment but he wrote. Thats a classic anti-gun line.
I believe in the Second Amendment but I dont think anyone should have a handgun, or a black gun or a semi-automatic, or a full capacity magazine or, or, or the anti-gunners always say.
In Metcalfs case, he says he doesnt feel Illinois new 16-hour training requirement is an improper infringement on the right to keep and bear arms.
Boy was he wrong.
Dead wrong.
