"Ditto. About those ads though... they ran ad nauseum last night... after awhile they have to hit the "diminishing returns" zone..."

That's a good point.

Some conflicting Tweets: Dorian Wesco Snyder ‏@DorianSnyder 1m #VoteBlue news in VA turnout at polls are poor. What a shame. 2hrs left.........Please VOTE!!!!!!! Some tweets saying Dem turnout is off, while all the liberal tweets are trying to give the impression of a Dem Tidal wave.

Thank you for combing through the cesspool of Twitter for me.

The fact I am not hearing the self congratulations on the D side is good. There’s less than two hours to go. If they had it in the bag, we’d know already.

Turn out at our precinct was steady, not like for a Presidential election, but steady. Sadly there are only two KC signs on my road. Saw lots of Ken supporters at the polls, but this one went Obummer last year.

I do have a first time voter in my house so it was plus one for the good guys. She has been looking forward to voting for several years, and was very proud and excited to go vote today.

Dem turnout is not “off”. The demographics that come in the General Elections do not tend to vote in the off-years.

The “off” turnout is in regards to the GOP turnout that came out for McDonnell in 2009. In my spreadsheet, I also included the votes Cucinelli received in his race for AG. After the results come in we will need to analyze the votes he got in 09 compared to now. That, not the lib votes, dead people voting, etc, will be the determining factor in whether he wins or loses tonight.

Well, your precinct is now suspect. I wish you hadn’t shared that.

The Blue team definitely has a strong internet operation.

Create the impression of a win, then urge the low-infos to vote along with you.

“You want to say you were on the WINNING SIDE, Doncha?”

Freepers, as a group, really underestimate the power of Social Media on today’s Under-35 voter.

Absolutely true. My 30-something y/o kids never see a newspaper, and almost never watch tv news. Their kids come over to our house, see the WSJ, and ask me "what's this, grandpa?" If it ain't on the net, they don't see it.

Neither did I!

Very true. When I want there last spring I felt NoVa looked like America USED to look. You didn’t see half the commercial & industrial buildings empty with “For Lease” signs.

I think the incredible expansion of the fedgov is a huge factor in the transformation. So my statement is partially flawed.

10,000-10,900 would be normal for Botetort based on the last 2 Governor elections, so it is still down.

Roanoke County’s turnout has been close to 31,000 votes that last 2 Governor races, so it is still down.

Roanoke City 23.56% is about 14,500. Normal Turnout is around 20-22,000 for the last 2 Governor’s races, so it is still down.

Still time to catch up before polls come, people getting off work.
