Why, it is all in the spirit of THE ECUMENICAL MOVEMENT, doncha know.
One worldwide religious organization, gleaning all the “best” from each of the various interpretations of divinity and “salvation”. Originally it was only supposed to cover the various permutations of the “Abrahamic” religions, but ambition knows no limits.
The derivation of the Christian church from the Hebrew practice of worship is fairly obvious, but there are serious doctrinal differences. The sort of second-hand derivation of Islam from a cobbled-together interpretation of the tale of Abraham and the son by Hagar, Ismael, supposedly the father of all the Arabic people, leaving out just about everything that was recorded in the Old Testament after Hagar and her son was driven into the desert. There are few, if any, points of congruity with the Judeo-Christian traditions found in Islam.
But if Islam has loathing for Jews and Christian, their greater detestation of the Hindu religion and its smaller protégé, Zoroastrianism, is without limits. Islam splits the Indian subcontinent into the Islamic Pakistan and Bangladesh, and the larger Republic of India. Within the Republic of India, the agitation by Islamic jihadists to subjugate the larger non-Islamic population continues on a daily basis. Acts of terrorism, rioting and criminal activity in nearly every corner of the Republic of India has troubled that nation almost from the start, and issues like Kashmir or various other frontier provinces are without any prospect of ever being settled.
“Ecumenical” means something totally different to Islam than it does to the innocents who think that something good will come from these efforts.
It's interesting to compare religions. These old pagan pantheistic religions very much focus on the here and now of getting rich. Chinese New Year is the same way. Good Luck and Get Rich is the main saying of the main social religious celebration of the year.
It revolves so much around offerings and prayers to ancestors and gods to ask for material wealth.
