The wounds are consistent with the kid being in profile with his right side to police. Do you shoot like that ?

More than profile, he was hit on the right side of his chest (the chest is in front) and the left bicep. His left bicep would not be exposed unless he were turned more than 90 degrees from having his back to the cop. It would be less than a second to complete the turn.

Far less than 10 seconds. That was the time from making their first report until the shots were fired. It only takes about one second to turn around and one more to shoulder a rifle.
