When the Democratic and Republican chairmen of the congressional intelligence commitees both agree that HealthCare.gov, Obamacares version of Internet Hell, should be taken down for security reasons, its time to pay attention.
Democrat Dianne Feinstein, who has chaired the Senate Intelligence Committee for the last five years, startled Bob Schieffer on CBSs Face the Nation today when she said, I felt and I said this directly to the presidents chief of staff, that they ought to take down the website until it was right. They believe that they need to keep it running and that they can sort out the difficulties. One way to interpret that is that the political survival of President Obamas signature achievement takes precedence over the cybersecurity of all Americans. As I wrote last month, the White House has shown an astonishing lack of concern for Obamacares security vulnerabilities.
Her House counterpart, GOP representative Mike Rogers of Michigan, concurred: They need to take the site down, stabilize it, meaning they cant continue to add code every week, and then they need to stress test the system. Unfortunately, Bob, none of that has happened. And they admit its going to take six months. . . . . That is unacceptable for the protection of privacy of Americans information.
The federal data hub that processes the information used to determine eligibility for Obamacares subsidies is the only part of the Obamacare site that seems to be working well. The bad news, as I wrote last month, is that because the data hub is the largest consolidation of personal data in our nations history, it will become a magnet for identity thieves.

Mr. Obama, tear down this website!
The screwed up website is just the tip of the iceberg and the least of the problems. The whole thing is a mess and a much, much bigger problem than the website.
Is Di Fi a right wing whacko bird now?
Obama is so dumb he thinks he will be able to fine everyone who can’t sign up at his site even though they couldn’t if they wanted to.
Can an adult please step in and take the keys away from this irresponsible idiot?
Sometimes she shows a shred of integrity, usually with respect to national security.
If they are going to leave this beast up, they should post the personal information of every politician in the District of Corruption on it too! The ‘RATS are always worried about “fairness”. It is only fair that hackers have access to all of the personal information of Soetoro, Reid and Pelosi too.
Well done!
FUBARack
the rats say they’re worried about fairness but not when it comes to their own hides.
I’ve noticed that a lot of ObamaCarees are being ripped off with outrageous premiums and deductibles for the low tier “Bronze” insurance plan. Does anyone know if they have an even cheaper “Brass” or “Aluminum” plan?
Unintended consequences.
Sometimes you frown.
Sometimes you chuckle.
It is going to be a long while before they can turn that frown upside down.
Lithuanian, Ukrainian and Nigerian computer experts are hard at work on this problem.
No wonder they all have an exemption and will keep their current plan.
In my state they are showing a Catastrophic Coverage policy as the lowest. There are no links to find out what the deductibles or actual coverage are.
Premium for 50+, single, male, is $190.
Cadillac plan tops out at $722 (unknown coverage or deductibles).
In lieu of having the system accessible via the public internet, they’ll probably install registration terminals at hospitals, IRS offices, HHS kiosks in shopping malls, etc. They’ll find a way to strip away the privacy concerns while still capturing all your data on a non-public system. Of course, HHS will need to staff those locations, so it’ll be a big job-creator for fedgov. :-/
“Does anyone know if they have an even cheaper Brass or Aluminum plan?”
The cheapest plan is the “Rust” plan which is only available to dead democrat voters.
LOL! “Rust”! That’s the one I want.
Beat me to it.
Glad I scrolled down before commenting. I was going to say:
Russian Mafia & Nigerian Princes are delighted.
Taking the web site down for 6 months will give the DEMs time to ACTUALLY READ THE BILL !!!
