I think it would win elections. Americans aren't as stupid as you think they are, especially ones that will take the real trouble to vote and resent like hell that busloads of rounded-up lib voters are propping up the other side.
Everybody knows the real reason leftists are against any kind of voter ID or requirements. If the left put one 20th as much time policing legitimate votes as they do policing handguns -- well, the left would be out of power.
