While U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller's supporters were listening to his celebration at the Civic Center Saturday, another Democratic leader was being protested outside.
The Citizens Defense League gathered to protest U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin.
The group is the states largest pro-gun lobbying group, and advocates for lawful hunting and to keep and bear arms for self-defense.
Lately, they've been upset with the decisions Manchin has made when it comes to guns and the federal government in general.
"We made a promise to him, that if he continued to push for gun control legislation in West Virginia, that we were going to be at every event he was, Keith Morgan, the groups president, said. So, were here to protest him."

Thank very much for the ping. The demonic-rats are all alike.
Gun grabbing Marxists, and that Manchin is a complete fraud.
Oh hey Onyx I only wish you could have been there!!! You missed the fun fun fun!
When one realizes that most of the mineral rights (coal) under the state of WV are owned by the Rockefellers (Jay the Senator et al), this means that Manchin, who is an absolute tool of the coal operators (like Massey energy) is owned by his fellow senator as well. Manchin is quite simply a lying opportunistic tool. WV needs to set itself free of BOTH of these bastards. Rockefeller with his federally built (with full time air traffic control) airport near the huge private hunting estate he runs-— oh that’s cute from the anti-gun M-16 in his DC house, gun owner jumping Jay. He knows— and isn’t running again.
Manchin may be a fraud, but he is the West Virginians’ kind of fraud - popular and already entrenched.
I'm glad to see Manchin take some heat. Luckily my jerk of a senator is retiring.
