"Friendly reminder from CNN: Senate Democrats killed a 2010 GOP proposal to let more people keep their plans" In September 2010, Senate Republicans brought a resolution to the floor to block implementation of the grandfather rule, warning that it would result in canceled policies and violate President Barack Obama’s promise that people could keep their insurance if they liked it.

“The District of Columbia is an island surrounded by reality. Only in the District of Columbia could you get away with telling the people if you like what you have you can keep it, and then pass regulations six months later that do just the opposite and figure that people are going to ignore it. But common sense is eventually going to prevail in this town and common sense is going to have to prevail on this piece of legislation as well,” Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley said at the time.

“The administration’s own regulations prove this is not the case. Under the grandfathering regulation, according to the White House’s own economic impact analysis, as many as 69 percent of businesses will lose their grandfathered status by 2013 and be forced to buy government-approved plans,” the Iowa Republican said.

On a party line vote, Democrats killed the resolution, which could come back to haunt vulnerable Democrats up for re-election this year

RE :”In September 2010, Senate Republicans brought a resolution to the floor to block implementation of the grandfather rule,...”

The grandfather clause was the one that was supposed to let us keep our insurance but it was weakened after passage by HHS regulations . I doubt they were trying to block that.

Its the mandates in the bill (the key part of the bill) that is causing this, requiring maternity coverage (for all adults), drug addiction treatment and mental illness, no lifetime caps, preexisting illnesses....

Those affordable policies with reasonable deductibles didnt have all of those so they are banned.

Its long overdue to see Obama being attacked from most sides.

I see the text post above says that, but that doesn’t look right.

THEY CAN RUN--BUT THEY CANT HIDE

The O/Care debacle looks like the House check-kiting scandal.
Dems--even in safe seats--were tossed out by angry constituents.

Democrats Scramble to Distance Themselves from Obamacare (RATS want a refund)
Breitbart | 10/30/13 | Wynton Hall / FR Posted November 01 by Libloather

**SNIP** Other Democrats now say they agree with Republicans that a delay of the individual mandate may be the only way to salvage the disaster and save face. "I think the administration is going to have to look at it [delay of the individual mandate]. and I'd encourage them to do so," said Rep. Gene Green (D-TX).

Five Democrats have now asked for the Obama Administration to seek a refund from the contractors responsible for the Obamacare website fiasco. Reps. Ron Barber (D-AZ), William Enyart (D-IL), Pete Gallego (D-TX), Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), and Filemon Vela (D-TX) wrote a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder urging the reimbursement effort.

We waited a long time to see Dems feel pain. Their party is over.

Delaying the mandate wont get those young invincibles to sign up to pay for it and make it work . It hurts Obamacare but buys some Dems some time
