Those folks didn’t shoot back and actively hunt down those perpetrating it.
This isn’t Europe, we aren’t Europeans, and this isn’t the 1940s.

Yep, the German had gun registration ,followed by gun confiscation. And no one,or at least very few even protested.
ANY person or government that wants to register your guns really wants to take them away.
Avoid registration because it has always ended in confiscation.
