Well considering it was aircraft that took out the anti-aircraft missiles I can’t say it was much of a loss seeing how they didn’t do much good against the aircraft that took them out. Why is it that none of these anti-aircraft systems seem to work for them in this region?
Prayers up for the safety of Israel.
Very significant, and it is interesting that the US confirmed this, while Israel, and even also the Syrian govt, prefer to keep silent.
Worked fine when they took down a Stealth fighter in Yugo, a few years back.
Well yeah but those planes were flying in from the same direction and at at the same flight path each run so once they had one plane’s route... they were sitting ducks.
I wold say yes except that was the only plane they managed to shoot down. I’m guessing the Soviet technology still isn’t up to snuff so why bother buying it.
AP-May 28th:
Israels defense minister on Tuesday signaled that his military is prepared to strike shipments of advanced Russian weapons to Syria, in a rare implied threat to Moscow.
Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon issued his warning shortly after a top Russian official said his government reserves the right to provide Syria with state-of-the-art S-300 air defense missiles.
I don’t want this SOB hussien deploying troops or naval forces for battle. He wants to be able to murder more Americans with impunity. Already the greatest mass murderer in American history, he’d even like to top Stalin or Mao if he could. And given three more years, he just may.
Noted......
That’s the day you eat kippers FAST.
It’s not so much the missile technology, although you need a certain level of technology, it’s the Russian ability to narrow the air paths to the target. It’s a matter of strategy.
Not sure what the current version or our AMRAM is but this is the kind of setup that the AMRAMS just loved to hunt for. Any weapon that needs a ground-based, fixed, search/guidance device is another word for suicide for the operators. I seem to remember the NVeets hitting the fire button then running like hell.
There’s that and the rest of the Lebanons had best learn some manners real soon. The regular folks there have got to be sick of carrying water for the Hezbos. One more round of the Hezbos drawing fire into Lebanon should be enough to start some serious throat cutting there. Lebanon has the assets to be a beautiful place with a great tourist economy and it is nothing short of amazing that they put up with Hezbokrap.
If I understand correctly, Israel is taking these out before they are active.
Obama administration official confirms to CNN that Israel attacked .... It is unclear why the US would leak such information as it could put more pressure on Syria to retaliate against Israel.
Kipper’s taste like Sable!

I find your thoughts interesting. Are the non Hez Lebanese able to effectively combat them I had assumed there was a majority of the Hezbollah and they effectively controlled all.
Perhaps it was the Syrian influence that tipped the balance. Not that Syria is out of the picture the Hezbollah grip may be lost.
Yeah, good point.
