Four Frenchmen held captive for three years by an Al Qaeda affiliate in Niger were reunited with their families yesterday , amid reports that a ransom of at least 20 million ($28 million) had been paid for their release.
If this report is true, it is near catastrophic. $28 million can go a very long way to support Jihad.

Sounds like a pretty lucrative business has been created.
Those al Qaeda boys sure are smart.

I hope that will be followed by at least $28M in weapons delivered as ordinance on target at affiliated terrorist locations. Otherwise, this was inexcusably stupid, if not evil. When a good person is taken hostage, hold a funeral and then hunt down the kidnappers regardless of cost. If you happen to rescue the hostage, great, but kill the terrorists 100% of the time.

NEVER negotiate with terrorists....the result of paying the ransom will be more captives.....money is valuable to them, captives aren't ......unless they can be exchanged for money.
you must take away their incentive to take captives !
