As Ken Cuccinelli rebounds, Terry McAuliffe warns he could lose
Washington Examiner ^ | OCTOBER 31, 2013 | PAUL BEDARD

Posted on 10/31/2013 11:46:55 AM PDT by HokieMom

As the polls tighten in the Virginia gubernatorial race, Democrat Terry McAuliffe is dropping his front-runner swagger and warning that he could lose.

In an email to supporters meant to inspire them to vote, he said simply: “Ignore the polls.”

Some polls show that the race is getting close, with Republican Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli getting to as close as three points in one poll, though most still show McAuliffe with a significant lead.

But the former Democratic Party chairman is worried about turnout in a year when voters are turned off by both candidates and there is no other headline-grabbing election dragging voters to the polls.

The polls are showing the race tightening and he advises supporters to “ignore the polls”? Wouldn’t that be the time to encourage them to work harder and get out their [crooked] vote? Liberals are beyond understanding.

IDK, I’m not sure I want to fall for this. In the waning days of the 2012 Presidential Election, everything in the media was showing a floundering President. His campaign stops lacked any energy and he even seemed as if it was all lost. And then? He won.

Perhaps we should spread around this article?

Top 3 Reasons Libertarians Should Vote Cuccinelli

Let’s face it. Rob Sarvis is a spoiler for Ken Cuccinelli. He will not win, nor will his campaign do anything to establish a permanently viable third party in Virginia. Unless those inclined to vote for him come to their senses, the only practical accomplishment Sarvis will have will be to elect Terry McAuliffe.

It doesn’t have to be this way. I’ll be the first to admit that the GOP has done precious little in recent years to live up to its stated principles–principles which are, with a few exceptions, largely in line with mainstream libertarian thought. Sarvis himself is a disillusioned former Republican.

But the right way to fix that isn’t by electing liberal Democrats like Terry McAuliffe. Instead, as my colleague Brian Reynolds noted last week, libertarians should follow the example of Rand Paul and other libertarians who have worked to change the GOP from within. Clearly there is going to be a lot of diversity of opinion within a large political party, but together those who identify with the conservative party (i.e., the GOP) can defeat those who identify with the liberal party. When we’re divided, everyone loses.

So, here are the top three reasons libertarians should vote for Cuccinelli, not Rob Sarvis.

1. SARVIS DRAINS VOTES FROM CUCCINELLI

I’ve heard from some Sarvis supporters that Sarvis draws votes from across the political spectrum, and I’m sure that’s right. But what is more accurate to say is that Sarvis draws overwhelmingly from those people who are focused on limited government, individual liberty, and adherence to the Constitution.

This sense is borne out in recent polling. As visible in the snapshot below of poll averages from the Huffington Post, the gains made by Sarvis have a direct negative correlation with Cuccinelli’s poll numbers.

We know from past experiences that third party pre-election poll numbers always overstate support, as most voters ultimately decide in the voting booth not to waste their vote on a candidate who will lose. But still, this kind of a draw away from Cuccinelli’s core support could be very damaging. Which leads to reason number 2.

2. THE BUCKLEY RULE FOR LIBERTARIANS

William F. Buckley once famously said his rule in deciding for whom he should cast his vote was to vote for the most rightward viable candidate, the most conservative candidate who could win. I propose the Buckley Rule For Libertarians: vote in the general election for the most libertarian candidate who has a snowball’s chance of winning. After the election, work within the major parties to move their policies and focuses to become more in line with libertarian thinking, but at the voting booth don’t sacrifice your vote on the altar of ideological purity.

Ken Cuccinelli is the most libertarian candidate with a chance of winning. To be sure, there are some issues that some libertarians disagree with him on (e.g., marriage), but let’s not forget this is the man who was the first state-level plaintiff in federal court against Obamacare. He’s the guy who has a record of fighting against federal overreach, be it via HHS or EPA. He’s a conservative crime fighter who recognizes that our system puts too many people in jail for too long. He’s made a career out of seeking more limited government, and greater individual liberty. Is he the Italian-American Ron Paul? No, but he most certainly is the most libertarian-leaning major party candidate we’ve ever had in Virginia.

3. MCAULIFFE IS AWFUL

I won’t waste too much time on this one. I assume for a libertarian/conservative audience I needn’t do much to convince you that Terry McAuliffe is just about the American antithesis of the ideal libertarian candidate. But here’s another angle you may not have considered.

If McAuliffe wins, he strengthens Hillary Clinton’s chances of winning the presidential race in 2016. Virginia would have a sitting governor who has, to date, raised over $400 million for Bill and Hillary Clinton, and who could as governor marshal significant resources for Hillary in Virginia.

So, in addition to being a partner of the Obama administration in overbearing environmental and economic regulations, including the expansion and entrenchment of Obamacare, a victory for McAuliffe means a tougher road to the White House for libertarian favorite Rand Paul.

Don’t waste your vote in protest.

Ron Paul is speaking on behalf of Cuccinelli, and most places, I think he’d carry more weight than The Won right now. Virginia might be different, since so many gummint employees aren’t feeling the Obamacare Oppression.

Virginia.....you have the cards to America’s future in your hands, next Tuesday!!! Terry MacAuliffe is supreme low life vermin and it matters not whether he wins or loses, because he will destroy what is left of Virginia that is good!!! He’s just like that NJ deadbeat, Cory Booker in New Jersey, worthless, totally useless & a raging Obambot thug/criminal!!!.

What matters, Virginians, is that KC beats MacAuliffe, because if that happens, two things are likely, Hillary Clinton goes nowhere and Barack Hussein Obama is toast as an effective POTUS!!! That’s the story!!! Dont’ waste your vote on a third party candidate!!! Get off your duff and vote for KC on election day and save our country from those that hate it!!!

Just remember.....Chris Christie is going to slaughter his weak Democrat low life candidate next Tuesday...and then quickly shift right politically. All the signs and words are there!!! I know that a lot of “our” folks are not happy with Christie...but a double win in both New jersey and Virginia literally destroys the Democrat Party going into the November, 2014 mid-term elections, where if we win both the Senate & House...we rule the roost!!! Get out and vote next Tuesday and hand Terry MacAuliffe a massive loss he never dreamed of!!!

And........RNC and other “traitor” RINOS....get your butts and bucks in gear and head into Virginia to give KC everthing, every tools he needs to beat MacAuliffe!!! We are watching!!!

My 15 year old son is a volunteer for the Cuccinelli campaign. He has worked with them since the day school got out in June. He has knocked on almost 2000 doors and made over 1500 phone calls since mid-June. He’s recruited a bunch of kids from his high school to help. These kids have put in a lot of hard work. This is being repeated throughout Virginia. Ken has the ground game and Terry does not. Terry relies on his lying TV ads and his B.S. “gender gap” with women.

I went to the office on Tuesday after work to pick him up for dinner. I spoke with the campaign team in the office about the polling. They told me the demographics were all wrong and that the media is using the Obama 2012 models rather than the normal VA gubernatorial demos. When you use those numbers, it is a dead heat.

They also told me that this Saturday they have 150 volunteers coming in to knock on doors and make phone calls. That’s just this district’s office. It is also being repeated state-wide. OBTW - we will also get to meet Ken this weekend as he is coming to our town!

Let Terry bring Obama in on Sunday to “help” his campaign. Tie Obamacare around both of their necks. That’s what Ken is doing. I’m cautiously optimistic, but fear anything close will result in the fraud machine to turn on full (calling Al Franken?). Gotta watch those ballots magically appearing in people’s trunks, office desks, etc.

Nothing personal but I'm so damn sick of hearing this. Everyone just accepts that we should be prepared to lose to fraud.

NO, HELL NO!! Anyone in VA, call your voting hdqtrs, offer to be a poll watcher, challenge any suspicious absentee ballots.

Most important, get any attempt to cheat out in the open, post it on the web, call the local news agencies. If we accept fraud then we lose ev everything, our freedom and our country, we lose America.

Sorry about the rant but this is THE most important issue we have today, not Obamacare or guns or anything else, honest elections have to be top priority or the rest just goes away.

But the former Democratic Party chairman is worried about turnout in a year when voters are turned off by both candidates and there is no other headline-grabbing election dragging voters to the polls.

It is surprising to me that anyone would want to vote for someone clearly supported by Satan himself.

McAuliffe supports the murder of children for convenience, to avoid responsibility, and to avoid the cost of raising them.

Terry wants to take away your guns.

Terry supports Obamacare that will reduce the life expectancy of its elder citizens.

His disdain for you is further reflected in the treatment of WWII veterans during the shutdown by the Democrats. He supports the use of federal government agencies such as the IRS, NSA, EPA to punish his enemies (you).

He is a member of the low information Party because Democrats passed Obamacare, an unworkable law, without reading it; they continue to support it without reading it.

McAuliffe thinks that men and women are interchangeable.

He is part of the most corrupt and anti-Christian administration this country has ever seen! But, as usual, Terry presents himself as a moderate in favor of jobs and education, unless, of course, the jobs are in the coal mining industry.

McAuliffe's campaign theme song "Money Burns A Hole In My Pocket"......

LETTER TO VA NEWSPAPER EDITOR (excerpt):......Va's state retirement fund is underfunded by billions. If McAuliffe is elected he can bring his expertise to the management of the fund. Anyone that can invest $100,000 and then claim to get a return of $18 million has my vote. McAuliffe knows how to get things done. He has a record to prove it........

Oh, yeah, wheeler-dealer McAuliffe is ogling the VA treasury .... (and the conniving Clintons are having wet dreams about Terry fixing the Va vote for Hilly come 2016). VA voters who vote for McAuliffe are making a deal with three devils.

=================================================

(Snicker) the "dearly departed" are also McAuliffe voters.

TERRY, THESE GHOULISH THING REMIND ME OF YOU McAuliffe is apparently polling well---and prolly receiving mucho campaign cash---from the "dearly departed" b/c a lawsuit Democrats filed says “the [VA State Board of Elections] is rushing to complete the purging of dead voters in time to have the desired effect on the upcoming gubernatorial election.....to make sure that those who no longer live here don’t vote here."

(cackle) The "dearly departed" are also Hillary voters. Terry is 2016 Hillary's place-keeper. If elected, grave-robber Terry will fix the vote---dead or alive---for Hilly. (That's after he rapes the VA state treasury.)

=======================================================

DEAD AND READY Another shady example of how the connected ex-DNC chair, Obama suck-up, and Clinton confidant, mixes business with politics to profit himself....with the dead and near-dead as his victims.

<><>McAuliffe apparently lied to VA voters---according to McAuliffe's campaign, he invested $33,000 in the notorious Caramadre death fund and received $80,000 in return, a $47,000 profit. However, documents submitted in Caramadre's trial by federal authorities indicated that McAuliffe's profit was actually $114,000, or $34,000 more than McAuliffe admitted to voters.

<><> According to official RI court records, McAuliffe’s connection to Caramadre came to light via court records linking McAuliffe’s investment directly with the terminally ill, ailing mechanic; official forms identified them as "acquaintances" (apparently a requirement to allow McAuliffe to cash in).

<><> When the irrefutable court records surfaced, McAuliffe’s campaign then said McA did not know the mechanic and doesn’t know why they were listed as "acquaintances."

<><> NOTE: if official files were falsified to profit McAuliffe, that's a felony in any state.

You wanna talk McAuliffe/Dem sleazy money? Read on.

.....the conniving National Council of La Raza Action Fund is doing a "get-out-the-Latino-vote" .... hoping a McAuliffe win will exert pressure on Congress to pass "immigration reform"...

La Raza has a lot of $$$$ irons in the political fires.

=================================================

EXHIBIT ONE----The Senate immigration “reform” bill includes two "neverending slush funds” amounting to hundreds of millions of tax dollars, earmarked for tax-exempt La Raza organizations.

EXHIBIT TWO---LA RAZA TEACHING HATE-AMERICA WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS "La Raza Studies" do not even try to sugar-coat its anti-America agenda and its bloodthirsty plans to kill off Americans: Raza Studies textbook “Occupied America,” by Rodolfo Acuña, includes a violent and blood-curdling speech given by university professor Jose Angel Gutierrez: “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is, if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him,” (pg. 323). The following is taken directly from La Raza's Occupied America: “.......execute all white males over age 16,” (p 167--AKA the Plan of San Diego).

America-hating Raza Studies teach (1) violence, (2) undermining US ntl security, and, (3) the need for Mexico to "re- take seven states in the Southwest...in order to make the SW a Chicano nation."

===================================================

EXHIBIT THREE----Just before the reform procedural vote, Judiciary Committee member Sen Grassley offered a simple amendment to the Judiciary Committee considering voting the immigration bill out of commmittee.

"The secretary (of homeland security) may not grant registered provisional immigrant status to an alien under this section unless the alien fully discloses to the secretary all the names and Social Security account numbers that the alien has ever used to obtain employment in the United States," said Grassley's amendment.

Grassley's amendment would not have prohibited illegal aliens from being converted into legal aliens just because they had used names and Social Security numbers that did not belong to them. It would only have required that the illegal aliens make the names and numbers they used known to DHS before they could be granted the right to legally live in the United States.

Grassley said, "Congress should not thumb its nose at the millions of Americans who are victims of identity theft, often perpetrated by an undocumented person who steals Social Security numbers to get jobs, govt benefits, driver's licenses and more. This amendment will simply require the person applying for RPI status to disclose any previously used Social Security numbers," said Grassley. "It's the first step to helping clean up the mess that's been created for the victim of identity theft. The amendment also authorizes certain federal agencies, upon receipt of this information, to notify individuals who were the victims."

===============================================

EXHIBIT FOUR ---- ON RECORD AS AIDING AND AETTING FELONIES Dismissing Sen Grassley's proposal, ranking Dem member Sen Schumer said: "When people are living in undocumented status, there are times, I suppose, when they've made up identities, made up Social Security numbers. How are they going to remember all that? (The) purpose of this bill is to bring people out of the shadows. We all know when they lived in the shadows, they had to forge documents, forge Social Security numbers, et cetera. I just don't see how, when you've lived here 10 years, and you've had many different identities, many different numbers, you're going to remember them all," said Schumer. The Senate Judiciary committee defeated Grassley's amendment 8 to 10 on a party-line vote.

====================================================

EXHIBIT FIVE----The Senate "reform" bill also absolves latinos holding US public office ---including those from VA---from prosecution for wrongdoing while in office for stuff like government fraud, graft, bribery, selling their votes for cash....all the usual politician crimes.

=====================================================

EXHIBIT SIX---- Senator Harry Reid Supports Giving Illegal Aliens Tax Credits for Kids Not Even Living in US .....Townhall.com

U.S. Rep. Sam Johnson, R-Texas, left, wants to end the practice of giving illegal immigrants tax credits for kids, but U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, D-Nev., won’t let the House-approved measure H.R. 556 through the Senate.

"The System is Working Fine" says Senator Harry Reid, even though the Joint Committee on Taxation calculates that enactment of H.R. 556 would save taxpayers $24.4 billion over the next decade. The House repeatedly has passed an IRS bill that could save U.S. taxpayers up to $24.4 billion but Harry Reid’s Democratic Senate will not hear it. The Refundable Child Tax Credit Eligibility Verification Reform Act, or H.R. 556, would require tax filers to provide Social Security numbers to claim child tax credits.

Currently, the IRS allows undocumented residents to collect the $1,000 credits for dependents not even living in the country. Watchdog reported that illegal immigrants received $4.2 billion from the tax agency in just one year.

Though the GOP-controlled House has passed Rep Johnson’s measure three times, Senate Majority Leader Reid, D-Nev., refuses to allow the bill to come up for a vote in his chamber.

Va voters should ask vote-crazed McAuliffe----enumerating the exhibits list above, what is he promising latinos to get their votes?

“ignore the polls” is what the loser says just before the loss.

Just how fixed were these polls?

4% is within the margin of fraud.
