The European Commission will adopt criteria next week on delivering an Ecolabel to toilets and urinals, EurActiv has learned. The decision comes after years of efforts by experts working for the European Commissions environment directorate, as well as stakeholders studying user behavior and best practices.
Work on developing an EU standard for toilets has started in January 2011, according documents of the European Commissions Joint Research Center, Institute for Prospective Technological Studies. A first Ad-Hoc Working Group meeting was held in Brussels on October 2011, with the second such meeting held in the attractive city of Seville, Spain, in June 2012.

I guess the regulations will be about as successful as the economy flush toilets that take 2 - 3 flushes to do what the old toilets did in one flush...: )
The only insert available as a replacement was a “water Saver” I drilled the insert out. I had better things to do than stand waiting for my dog’s water bowl to fill.

Wait until all toilets and their tank sizes have to be registered and then wired so the EU can keep track of its use.
