Opposition to Tea Party reaches new high in Virginia, according to new poll
The Washington Post ^ | 10/29/2013 | Ben Pershing and Scott Clement

Opposition to the tea party movement has reached a new high in Virginia, a new Washington Post/Abt SRBI poll shows, kicking a key leg of support out from under Ken Cuccinelli II as he tries to win the governor’s race on a strongly conservative platform.

Cuccinelli (R), the state attorney general, now trails businessman Terry McAuliffe (D) by 12 points among likely voters, the survey shows. And Cuccinelli’s decline comes as Virginians are increasingly turned off by the movement that has backed him strongly and with which he shares many views.

That’s redundant. Barf is required whenever north Virginia is mentioned.

Not buying it. That may be the case in Northern VA but not the rest of the state. And Northern VA is not VA...it’s only a part of VA and it’s a part that most of us in other parts of the Commenwealth fervently wish we could say goodbye to. It would make a nice addition to MD.

The timing of is poll is quite suspicious as it is right before the VA Governor’s election and just a week after one poll showed the race to be a statistical dead heat.

Most curious is that the article is from the very liberal Washington Post.

We can only take this to mean that the Virginia poll on the tea party is fake.

Gee,you mean that all those $100K/yr Federal government layabouts, the ones exempt from Osama Obama Care, oppose smaller government! Would it be wrong for me to suspect that similar results would be found in DC and in Maryland?

Funny you saw that as well. There are several “typos” in this article (including a poorly written headline!) I get email notifications that the WAPO calls “Afternoon Buzz” so I can keep tabs on their election coverage. It’s essentially their blog articles. Quality online news at its finest. Making Jeff Bezos proud!

Erick Erickson stated a few weeks ago that Ken Cuccinelli is losing this race the same reason Romney lost last year. They both allowed their opponents to define them without any opposition. McAulliffe and his lieutenants continue to attack a group (The Tea Party) that has no leader and does not defend itself because it is not a group but a movement.

:) the media is going all out to discourage conservatives. especially since hitlery is involved.

I gave money to re-elect Ken, but hey, if the people of Virginia want to bow their knee to a tyranny of liberalism, it is their choice.

OR, we can hope, like CHARLIE DON’T SURF, TEA DON’T POLL.

They can’t manufacture the RAT votes they need if they don’t know how many they need.

Remember that county clerk in WI? that didn’t turn in voting results to the AP, creating chaos for the RATS?

It’s their decision. If they want to be like the People’s republic of Maryland. Overtaxed and Millionaires leaving in droves Filling up with illegals and same sex marriage, they can vote for that.

Shame on them when they start crying about higher taxes.

I hope I'm wrong but I'm beginning to get a little concerned here in Texas. Hopefully it's because I live in Austin but they are organizing like crazy down here and the big dogs have targeted us because they seem to believe they have an opening with Wendy Davis. I hope I'm wrong but Ma Richards took me by surprise too.
