Adelson: US should drop atomic bomb on Iran
Jerusalem Post ^ | 10/24/2013 14:58 | MAYA SHWAYDER

ORK – During a panel at Yeshiva University on Tuesday evening, Sheldon Adelson, noted businessman and owner of the newspaper Israel Hayom, suggested that the US should use nuclear weapons on Iran to impose its demands from a position of strength.

Asked by moderator Rabbi Shmuley Boteach whether the US should negotiate with Iran if it were to cease its uranium enrichment program, Adelson retorted, “What are we going to negotiate about?”

Adelson then imagined what might happen if an American official were to call up an Iranian official, say “watch this,” and subsequently drop a nuclear bomb in the middle of the Iranian desert.

"Then you say, ‘See! The next one is in the middle of Tehran. So, we mean business. You want to be wiped out? Go ahead and take a tough position and continue with your nuclear development. You want to be peaceful? Just reverse it all,

Israel will use the bombs only AFTER she takes a hit, either nuclear or bio-chem.

You know, Israel always has to wait for it and then retaliate. Those are the UN/world ground rules that apply ONLY to Israel and no other nation.

In the 1973 Yom Kippur war, Israeli INTEL wanted to launch a pre-emptive strike against Egypt in the Sinai but the then Prime Minister, Golda Meir hesitated for fear that she would not have Nixon's support if she initiated a war, so, she waited and took a terrible, punishing “surprise” attack by Egypt and Syria.

Israel always has to take into account world opinion even though, it is always against them...a waste of lives.

What, pray tell, would be the point in nuking Detroit? Would anyone notice the difference?

Those living about 20 miles or so from what was left of Windsor, Ontario would certainly notice, which would also destroy a very long term friendship with Canada. I have friends in Windsor myself.

Therefore, to end the war and to keep the loss of people lower than it would have been had we invaded, we dropped the bombs on Japan.

That's what people were told. The truth is that we dropped the bombs on Japan to keep the Russians out. Bomb dropped exactly when the Russians were about to invade Japan, the Russians warned us months before and by agreement with Roosevelt had to wait before invading. We dropped the bomb same day they were about to move on Japan. That stopped the Russians cold in their tracks in Korea, ending in the division of Korea that continues to this day. These games with Russia continue, now with moves regarding Iran.

Why can’t there be a “stimulus” to toss the clown out of the White Hut?

6 Didn’t Obama say we could absorb a blow? Which sounds like he thinks we can take one without fighting back.

12 I had forgotten about the EARLIER Obama Outrages, but now that youve refreshed my memory Yes I do believe he did suggest we absorb a nuclear attack. ...

14 Yes he did if I recall right....I have zip confidence he would lift a single finger....

I agree with Hardraade that Obama would drop the bomb on New York before dropping one on Iran.

The POTUS is a communist, a Muslim sympathizer, and a racist. Now having said that, below is is his actual quote from 9/23/2010 ...

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/plum-line/2010/09/full_context_of_obamas_absorb.html

"I said very early on, as a Senator and continue to believe, as a presidential candidate and now as president, that we can absorb a terrorist attack. We will do everything we can to prevent it. but even a 9/11, even the biggest attack ever, that ever took place on our soil, we absorbed it, and we are stronger. This is a strong, powerful country that we live in, and our people are incredibly resilient."

Then he addressed his big concern. "A potential game changer would be a nuclear weapon in the hands of terrorists, blowing up a major American city. Or a weapon of mass destruction in a major American city. and so when I go down on the list of things I have to worry about all the time, that is at the top, because that's one area where you can't afford any mistakes. And so right away, coming in, we said, how are we going to start ramping up and putting that at the center of a lot of our national security discussion? Making sure that that occurence, even if remote, never happens."

... the fact that Obama then launched into a discussion about nuclear terror suggests the first part of his quote was a reference to a conventional terror attack -- which he contrasted with the far more catastrophic nuclear variety. He was saying that history has already shown that we can absorb a conventional attack -- but by contrast, we may not be able to "absorb" a nuclear one without it being a societal "game changer." And that's why it ranks at the very top of his list of security concerns.

Which of course I don't buy for 1 fleeting second.

Might want to re-read your history ...

Operation Opera, also known as Operation Babylon, was a surprise Israeli air strike carried out on 7 June 1981, that destroyed the Osirik nuclear reactor under construction 17 kilometers (10.5 miles) southeast of Baghdad, Iraq.

Operation Orchard was an Israeli airstrike on a nuclear reactor in the Deir ez-Zor region of Syria carried out just after midnight (local time) on September 6, 2007.

“Obama would drop the bomb on New York before dropping one on Iran”

NOT New York...
Too many of his big bank financiers and Sycophantic Media there.

Indianapolis, or Charlotte? He GLADLY do it.

I am aware of these limited strikes and because they were single and not multiple target take downs it is not the rule, but rather the exception.

I am talking about triggering a major war, something both Iraq, Syria, HAMAS and Hizbollah have been reluctant to do.

Israel regularly will take unilateral action on specific, limited targets as part of the ongoing enforcement of their red lines.

Regarding Iran, everyone agrees that it would be very difficult for the small IAF to hit so many targets and take them all out without incurring a major retaliation and that is where we are right now.

Iraq (Osirak) was one facility. Syria, was one or two facilities. What can they do vis Iran?
I am assuming a major EMP EW attack over Iran followed by bombings, that's the only scenario I can envision.

Israel knows Barry will not be there for them...

They could use a Neutron bomb - quicker radioactive dissapation, less fallout over our Cannuck cousins but what we originally hoped for was a rubble-clearing device so the Neutron bomb is not the answer. How about using 500 “Daisy cutters”?

How many millions did Adelson donate to get Obama elected?

The American Jews have done more harm to Israel than Yasser ever did.

The USA should announce that two nuclear devices will be detonated in Iran then drop one in the desert 12 hours later. Then the US should say, “Well?”

If not there already Israel is fast approaching that she doesn’t care what world opinion is, especially in regard to protecting her land from attack.

Bi-Bi’s made it clear for some time now they will attack Irans Nuclear sites before they’re set to fire anything. I believe him. They did so with Saddam’s site and didn’t announce to the US until after the fact.
