Why would they want to come home to Queerville Obamacare Gulag Land??? Better to wait it out.
The troops don’t want to pull out without a win because that would mean all the lost lives and limbs of their brothers were for nothing.
If this is really coming from in-theater vets... I don’t know who has currency to argue otherwise.
Without reading it I’m going to say in the top three of many reasons is the same reason a kid would stay with a neglectful aunt rather than go home to mom’s abusive boyfriend. At least there are movies and you can play a boy’s game once in awhile with rules
Just another Obama foreign policy disaster.
Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Libya and Afghanistan.
So close to victory just five years ago and now Obama will retreat like the coward he is.
We have lost more wars under Obama than all other presidents combined.
Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria.
Given the pending obamacare debacle,
Afghanistan may be a safer place to be.
Another democRAT in office causes another war loss like VN. Or perhaps the combat zone bonus and accelerated promotions or lack of garrison duty BS that’s stateside is the appeal or the fags in the showers. Or perhaps unlike in VM where anyone in a combat zone can be fired upon first, isn’t the rule in AFG or the inability to call in air strikes or artillery without having to get a 4 man consensus is the draw. Doubt it. Take a vote from every trigger-pulling serviceman in the field and then come back here with the TRUE opinion.
Their government websites work?
I'm sorry - how many? I just want it repeated, since we haven't heard any war death numbers from the MSM since, um, let's see, roughly January 21, 2009.
Short of an all-out, unrestricted war on the Religion Of Peace, there will never be the possibility of a win.
I agree with a lot of the sentiment expressed here so far, but if I could add its also primarily young white men who want to fight instead of coming back to “Mommy Professor’s day care center for Tolerance.” PC is primarily directed at them, and this is an escape.
I'd suggest the the RoEs preclude such.
Seems we did this back in the day. Like 1975 or so. We Nam vets feel we won the war, big. It was the government that lost the war. The John Kerry Wing of Socialist Anti-American, US Military hating, Commie Loving, Obama butt kissing wing of the Homo Loving Dim Party.
The U.S. actually did win in Iraq. But the Obama Administration sabotaged relations with the Iraqi government as a prelude to abandoning any role there. A prosperous, relatively stable Iraq might have justified Bush and discredited Obama’s anti-surge, antiwar position.
I know a number of them that do not want to go back and many that want to leave. Even the civilian contractors want to leave as they live in terrible conditions and the money isn’t worth it anymore. They make $200k-$350k but work 15 hours days and 7 days a week, have zero privacy, crap food (usually an MRE), zero entertainment, zero social life, hostile superiors and “friendly” forces, etc.
If there was actually a chance of a win for them, I’d say go for it. But our government, republicans and rats alike, has made it pretty clear they want to have their cake and eat it to (ie, they don’t want to win, but they don’t want to lose either), which will only result in more US deaths.
If our government is going to continue to hold our troops back while they’re over there, then it’s time to bring them home.
“In short, they don’t want to go home without the win.”
Well that’s all fine and good...But one thing people are missing here is the fact that there is a liberal/socialist administration/government that doesn’t want that to happen...
And leaving a “residual” force in place, rotating servicemembers in and out of that zone will only create an endless supply of bodies coming home, for what???
If the civilian authority does not want to “win”, what the military wants is a moot point...What the families who have lost loved ones want is especially secondary to the political agenda that this particular crop of feckless wonders in D.C. desire...
They talk a good talk, but their walk leaves a lot to be desired...Very few politicians care about doing what is right, in the bigger scheme of things...There is NO virtue to speak of in their ranks as well...
So what are we left with??? Not much to do but try to keep the energy up for at least one more year...
Lots of “things” hinge upon whether or not we keep the politically apathetic ready to go next year...I do not believe it will happen, too many people lose interest too quickly, and no one seems to be able to keep the base energized for more than a gnat’s lifetime...
Fighting the democrats is one thing, having to deal with the quisling feckless wonders in the GOPe is a new matter altogether...Something most are not prepared to sift through to keep them out of the offices they currently occupy...
Just think, we have to deal with the ObamaCare TAX, a new push from both sides for immigration reform (AMNESTY), and a debt ceiling bust at the first of the year which they will all be able to kick down the road easier this next time...Thanks to those very same feckless republicans that need to be replaced at the earliest convienience...
I do not believe the voting public can remain properly engaged till November 2014...
I would love to be proven wrong...
That’s what the brave soliders in Vietnam said. They didn’t want the losses to go for nothing.
Too bad the leaders don’t have the same sense of honor
