Crop of ‘Ted Cruz’ candidates emerge for 2014

Good! If we had all Ted Cruz like people in government can you imagine how our economy would take off. Check it out:

The competition to be the next Ted Cruz is extremely hot within the Republican Party, where a number of emerging challengers are hoping to capitalize on the newest brand name in conservative politics.

In Kansas, Milton R. Wolf opened his fundraising pitch to supporters last week by asking them whether he could be the next Cruz candidate. In Mississippi, Chris McDaniel announced his campaign to unseat Sen. Thad Cochran last week and welcomed the comparison to Mr. Cruz, calling it “a compliment.”

Then there’s Ben Sasse, a university president running for Nebraska’s U.S. Senate seat, who set state fundraising records by opposing Obamacare. He told the Lincoln Journal Star last week that he would have voted with Mr. Cruz to keep the government shut down last week, saying it was a better option than continuing to spend and run up debt.

Every race needs a strong conservative running.

It is going to be very interesting to see how all these candidates fare in the primaries against their establishment opponents. If there are a number of upsets then it might be an indication that the power within the GOP is changing. But if McConnell and Graham and Alenxander and Cornyn all win their primaries then I think the party is in a death spiral.

I’m in Pa. But I’m supporting Dan Bongino for Congress (Maryland) and Rob Maness for Senate (LA, going after Landrieu)

The primaries are key and the only thing that keeps me from changing my “R” registration. PA. has closed primaries.

Maness I know is better than Cassidy in LA. Wasn’t Bongino the senate nominee last year?

Dan Bongino is a former Secret Service agent. He’s running for the House of Representatives in Maryland’s 6th. A tough one...because its so infested with ‘gubmint’ employees, etc.

They won’t. I think Linda is done for, and Lamar has nowhere to go but down.

The best part about the current state of play, is that far from grassroots conservative candidates being long-shots who pulled of upset victories (like in 2010 and 2012), our guys now lead the pack in many races across the country. Sasse is up against two other Republicans who arguably have better name ID than him, yet he is outraising them comfortably.
In North Carolina, Greg Brannon is out-polling establishment backed Thom Tillis easily in the primary.
And in Iowa, conservative radio host Sam Clovis leads polls against established state politicians by over 10 points.

Primary voters across the country are realizing they don’t have to settle for second best.

How many of the shiny new Ted Cruzes will still be Ted Cruzes after they are elected and take their seats? The experience of past elections does not make for much optimism.

Rand Paul was on Mike Gallagher about an hour ago and he said he was supporting Mitch McConnell.

2 minutes later, I actually got a call from Rand PAC. I told him I just heard Rand Paul state he was backing Mitch McConnell and to please take me off his list, that although I did support him, I would NEVER support Rand Paul after that. (At least he had the guts to announce it publicly, though).

In State Senators have a real tough time going against the other Senator.

Don’t like Rand doing this either, but my “line in the sand” test will be if he campaigns for McConnell.

The RINO’s can ignore and bad-mouth the Tea party at their own risk

The RINO’s are dying and the Tea party is growing.

Keep screwing around and we will find our own party and RINO’s can go screw themselves.

Linda will probably win because of all of the other Republican Candidates. They will get involved in a garbage war and by the time there is a run-off, they will have damaged each other to the point where Linda will win.

That being said, I hope that he/she is primaried out and the winner takes the seat!

That’s not my analysis. So far, the three have not talked about each other much at all. They’ve each focused on exposing Linda, and remember, a Texas-style runoff means that all they ahve to do is keep Linda under 50%. It’s actually an asset in this race for us to have several different candidates.

I promises this. If Linda Gayham is forced into a runoff, he is TOAST.

Crop of ‘Ted Cruz’ candidates emerge for 2014

In South Carolina, it's Lee Bright .... Lindsey Graham Challenger Lee Bright Aligns Himself with Ted Cruz, Rand Paul GOP Wing

“We’ll stand with Ted Cruz, we’ll stand with Rand Paul, we’ll stand with Mike Lee. You’ll have a fourth up there fighting the battle,” Bright promised the onlookers. “I’m ready to go to war.”

**********

Not sure about the others but in Cornyn’s case it is getting close to the
filing for the gop primary. It runs Nov. 9 - Dec. 9, 2013 with the primary on
Mar. 4, 2014. So a candidate with some appeal, recognition and money doesn’t
have much time left to step up.
