Global warming linked to wildfires: UN climate chief
AFP News ^ | October 22, 2013

Wildfires are "absolutely" linked to global warming and increasingly intense heatwaves, the UN climate chief has said, as bushfires burned out of control in Australia.

Asked in an interview with CNN if there was a link between climate and wildfires, Christiana Figueres, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), said "yes there is, absolutely".

"The World Meteorological Organization has not established a direct link between this wildfire and climate change yet," Figueres said.

"But what is absolutely clear is the science is telling us that there are increasing heatwaves in Asia, Europe, and Australia, that there these will continue, that they will continue in their intensity and in their frequency."

True, that is why wildfires are down this year.

Even more importantly, global warming “research” is directly linked to govt grants.

hey!!-

we in amerika are doing are part!

I believe there are several counties in California
that have outlawed Back Yard Fireplaces!

“A proposal to limit fireplace use, reported here last June, became reality Friday as the South Coast Air Quality Management District board voted unanimously “to impose hefty fines on homeowners who burn wood in fireplaces on high-pollution days during winter months — usually about two dozen days,” according to the L.A. Times.

This spring has been a bit at the warm end of averages - I am not sure it has broken any records. People are building deeper and deeper in forested areas that would have probably just been let burn 100 years ago. Also whilst people are encouraged to clear their properties of low growth, cutting down trees of certain proportions will incur very hefty penalties no matter how close to you house they are or what clear and present danger they present- and there always seems to be a local greenie just around the corner ready to report on you. So a lot of the damage is somewhat natural and somewhat man made - it’s just that the man made part has nothing to do with global warming and more to do with greenie regulations.

As I watch the passing of the coolest summer in my 70 years, and the ice is growing in the arctic.

One would think that we never had forest fires before.
Remember the dust bowls of the 30’s.
We were promised hurricanes, we never got a bad one this year. Every time the wind blows these people call it Global warming. Somebody must be listening , they are still screaming it.

Smokey says 99% of wild fires are caused by humans.

Wildfires are "absolutely" linked to global warming and increasingly intense heatwaves, the UN climate chief has said, as bushfires burned out of control in Australia.

So global warming is making a comeback or did she just not get the memo?

Asked in an interview with CNN if there was a link between climate and wildfires, Christiana Figueres, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), said "yes there is, absolutely".

So this is editorializing by the reporter, because climate absolutely is linked to wildfires. A dry climate makes them possible.

"The World Meteorological Organization has not established a direct link between this wildfire and climate change yet," Figueres said.

Wait a minute. We are waiting for WoMO to rule on whether or not climate changing from moist to dry is linked to wildfires? What is this "climate change" they speak of? Are they being intentionally vague and misleading?

"But what is absolutely clear is the science is telling us that there are increasing heatwaves in Asia, Europe, and Australia, that there these will continue, that they will continue in their intensity and in their frequency."

So "science", from a source other than WoMO, is telling us that there is a link between increasing heatwaves and increasing heatwaves which then form an infinite feedback loop of growing intensity and frequency? Are they simply localized phenomenon or are they continent wide and will they spread to other continents?

Water Vapor comprises 93.5% of “Greenhouse Gases”.

The variability of factors responsible for introducing water vapor into the atmosphere are so vast as to be IMPOSSIBLE TO MODEL.

CO2 comprises only 3.5% of “Greenhouse Gases”.

How do these hucksters pretend that we can determine cause and effect by monitoring variables within the 3.5% component, when the forcing factors in the water vapor component are incalculable??????

(Well....first they IGNORE that water vapor is a “Greenhouse Gas”......)

actually WILDFIRES have been LINKED TO ARSON, with possible illegals involved.... global warming is caused by the sun and ocean cycles.... we had previous warming 7000 years ago raising ocean levels 500 feet or so, well before mankind had internal combusiton engines, coal fired plants and everything elase the tree hugging bark eaters claim is now causing heating.... which in reality hasn’t taken place for the last 8-9 years and in fact we are heaed for global cooling... so keep your motors idling... please or we will be buried under a mile of ice ... again

If these people were any stupider, they’d believe fire falls from the sky and it’s man’s fault.

Wildfires wouldn’t be so bad with proper forestry management.
