Want to get rid of any potential leakers about that raid? Stuff many (all?) of them into a single outdated utility chopper accopanied by 7 Taliban/Al Qaeda who were swapped in a the last moment.

Being that SEAL Team 6 was officially “disolved” in 1987, and is now the Naval Special Warfare Development Group or simply DEVGRU, it’s not known which one of the platoons were on Extortion 17, in fact no one outside of JSOC, NSWC, or DEVGRU knows how many platoons are really in DEVGRU.
Maybe 50 years from now one of them might come forward, but the SEALs are not known to be ones to talk about “sensitive” ops.
