To: Springfield Reformer

I have health insurance through Blue Cross. I went to the doc last week, paid my $10.00 copay and had a normal visit. I didn’t think anything changes for me or my family.

Cancellation letters are probably still going out, because the current plans are valid until January 1, 2014. Or you may have a grandfathered plan, if you haven’t changed policies since before the law was signed. I changed afterward. My Assurant policy skyrocketed for no apparent reason, so I switched to BCBS, which was cheaper, but not grandfathered. Strategic error on my part. I think I was counting too hard on the Supreme Court to set things right. My bad. So on to the Christian co-ops for me and mine. Could be a blessing in disguise. My research suggests the co-ops will serve us better than low end standard insurance.
