"I've got to confess, though, I found this result surprising. As I pushed the button to run the analysis on my computer, I fully expected I'd be shown a modest negative correlation between identifying with the Tea Party and science comprehension."Then, you're a complete & utter idiot who shouldn't be allowed to teach my dog tricks, let alone college.

You mean “Bottom of his Class” McCain?
To: Red Steel
Scientifically literate? Yes, I suppose we are.
I wonder if the professor would like to do a study on how Economically literate we are. Perhaps he'd be surprised all over again.

Those who can’t, teach; those who really can’t, teach college. Sad that these institutions of higher learning have turned into one of the biggest scams on the planet.

"Of course, I still subscribe to my various political and moral assessments--all very negative-- of what I understand the "Tea Party movement" to stand for. I just no longer assume that the people who happen to hold those values are less likely than people who share my political outlooks to have acquired the sorts of knowledge and dispositions that a decent science comprehension scale measures." Nothing like not learning from your previous mistake about the Tea Party and committing it again, eh Doc?

That’s the right question, though I use
“by what standard”, just so they have to admit that the standard is arbitrary or simply a consensus that is not objective.
Any objective standard would never change, because right would be right and wrong would be wrong, regardless of what the calendar said.
