Thats why Bullard says he refiled a bill that aims to, in his words, tie up any loose ends that most Floridians are concerned about. That includes explicitly defining that an aggressor is someone engaged in an overt act of violence, such as brandishing a weapon
...but, it would also again switch up that aggressor language so that one could not be provoked and then upon provocation, choose to defend themselves. And, then the person who did the provoking is able to use deadly forcethat little loophole is what led to the unfortunate acquittal of George Zimmerman, he added.
The aggressor term is not fully defined in Simmons and Smiths billthough Smith says hes working to get that included in the finished product.

1. Trayvon Martin was provoked into beating up George Zimmerman.
2. Provocation is based purely upon one person's perception of a situation instead of the actual circumstances and events. So, just looking at someone in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable or wronged is sufficient provocation to beat up someone.
3. The aggressor is defined by the presence of a weapon rather than by a person's intentions and actions.
This bill will define anyone who uses a gun as a criminal automatically while criminals can use the "they said or did something that offended me" line as a defense to justify assault, battery, and murder.
Isn't fantasy land great? You just make up your own version of reality and everyone else is forced by law to go along.
Liberal gun control fantasies continue in the Florida state legislature.
So if you “dis” someone, and they start beating your head in, you “provoked” them and are no longer eligible to defend your life.
Sheesh, talk about life imitating art! Please tell me his first name isn't Bob.
Zimmerman didn’t use the “stand your ground” law. He based his defense on classic self-defense.
But they keep trotting this out because from day one the Left has been determined to get rid of this law and have used any propaganda tool they can find including outright falsehoods.
don’t kid yourself....tray was going to use syg...what do you think the chick was for...coooborate his stalking defense. from what I could tell from her testimony...she’d been through tray’s routine before.
Sounds like the Amish Protection Act of 2013. Course, that may be the exact intent, depending on how insane this particular lib is. Being overly sensitive to dissing is a trait of libs in general, but seems especially pronounced among [some of] the Amish.
Then his ho mean mugged us again, so...
It's worse than that. If someone "thinks" you dissed him, whether you objectively did or not, they you can't defend yourself when he attacks you for the imagined "dis".
True, and the mere hint of an accusation by one of the tribe carries the weight of law.
GZ still would be acquitted. TM ended his cellphone call with girlfriend when he told her he was very near to the condo and he already lost GZ. Per cellphone record/timeline, the moment TM closed his cellphone, GZ was just getting out of his SUV after he ended his cellphone call with 911. At that moment TM is near his girlfriends condo, GZ was faraway on the road that is around the row of condos to where TM was located. Cops arrive to find TM had moved away from the condo and headed toward GZ after he told his girlfriend he lost him. It is not hard to establish that TM decided to go look for GZ to settle the insult of being followed by him. Once TM goes looking for GZ he is now the aggressor and the one that was re escalating a situation.
No way!
Sure. George Zimmerman provoked Lil’ Skittles by grabbing Skittles’ hands, smashing them against Zimmerman’s face and bashing his head against the sidewalk.
Got in a similar fight once myself. I bruised this guy’s knuckles with my nose and dislocated his knee with my groin.
What they intend to do is make it impossible for a law abiding citizen to defend him/herself from the attacks of the criminal.
Travis, I’m sorry but I’ve reached a conclusion — you must stop writing. Like 1984 and Atlas Shrugged, the left reads them and believes they’re intended as instruction manuals. Look — they went so far as to go dig up a guy named Bullard!
Why are FL legislators twerking on the payroll, anyway?
Oh, it says tweaking. Never mind...
They shouldn’t be doing that either! (either the drug kind or the tyranny kind)
LOL!
