During a U.S. House hearing concerning the closure of national parks and monuments during the partial government shutdown, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) scolded the director of the National Park Service for treating pot-smoking demonstrators in the Occupy movement with more respect than the nations war veterans.
Gowdy relentlessly challenged National Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis to cite the federal regulation that prompted his department to put up barricades to keep veterans out of war memorials on the first day of the shutdown. He also pointed out that the Park Service failed to issue a single citation when Occupiers camped out at D.C.s McPherson Square for 100 days 100 days in non-compliance with federal regulations.

Gowdy is great! Any way he could primary Gramnesty?

I think he wants to stay in the House. He’s a natural leader. And as the current “leader” pale by comparison, he will move up quickly and take some of the reins.
I heard him say he wants to go back to private life soon, and not even stay in the House very long.
I don’t blame him. I don’t know how an honest man stands even walking into that whorehouse.
Gowdy is an amnesty supporter like Graham.
I’m surprised NPS chief, Jarvis, didn’t invoke the 5th Amendment. Jarvis’ having multiple White House meetings, but has no idea who he met with and what was discussed is ludicrous. He is covering for the White House and will get a gold parachute for stone walling. If the truth be known he likely met with Valerie Jarret and discussed actions by the NPS that would get the best optics by hurting the American people the most.
Yawn. therefor what... name one consequence of all the republicans bloviating. Good theater for the base but all useless bullshit. The crap continues and march to totalitarianism is undeterred..
16T in debt, pubs cave on obamacare and shutdown and now pubs go on the attack on barricades and park shutdowns. Of course it was an outrage and I am not suggesting they not trash this bozo. But our people are nipping at gnats and and not taking on elephants. It really is quite pathetic
..and then quickly proceed to crawl up Juan MeCain ass and morphed into just as big a Rino.
Gowdy has his moments of brilliance for sure, but if he supports Amnesty, I have to wonder.
Most of these guys are in the pockets of their corporate paymasters. Money is the mother’s milk of politics and the vast majority of these politicians are sucking at the teat of the corporate class.
Gowdy was on the radio this morning pimping amnesty again. He is not all he seems to be.
Trey Gowdy salute!!!
This guy is one of our leaders.
I like Trey Gowdy.
Well why should he?
You explain in your own response that this whole bunch is at the point where they can sit back and say, "Yeah, I did that - what are you going to do about it?"
With no reprocussions.
And ... ? Nothing happens!!!!!
Loved his jumping in when Lois Lerner took the Fifth to tell her AND ISSA that she had just given up her Fifth Amendment rights, but where did that get us? Issa let her arrogant ass defiantly walk out the door to a paid administrative leave and now lucrative pension. How long ago was that?
Recently heard an interview of Gowdy within which he refused to question the actions of Boehner and Cantor with respect to the funding of Obamacare (when Boehner and Cantor tried to float that "defund Obamacare in a clean bill and we can then leave it off the CR"). So is Gowdy slowly being co-opted?
I am sick of the Kabuki theater.
How so?
The libs are going to really learn to hate this guy. He loves to cite law and break it off in their posterior.
