Toomey found a new rat to jump into bed with? Did Manchin smell?
Why can’t you just hang tough and stand firm?

The "little secret" that Washington doesn't want anyone to know is that ObamaCare has nothing to do with health care.
The Social Security and Medicare trust funds are flat broke. They have more outlays than receipts.
The US is about to spiral into a deflation depression. Massive deficit spending (debt-money creation) is the only thing that has pretended to keep us out of it thus far. The Federal government relies on taking excess receipts from trust funds and purchasing US Treasury securities with them. That option does not exist anymore until a new HUGE "trust" fund is created. That's what the ACA is all about.
In other words, the Senators know full well that we face economic ruin very soon if ObamaCare is not pushed forward. They know that they can't negotiate out. Our nation of debt addicts has run out of time.

Screw them both! I remember when Toomey had me fooled. If nothing else, this is exposing the posers who tried to latch on to the “teaparty.”

Defaulting on the debt would be better than the hyper inflation that will surely come from printing 80 billion dollars every month. Devalued currency hurts the people with higher prices while default hurts the governments ability to borrow more money. Shut it down.

But Sen. Toomey says that President Obama and the Democrats bare a lot of responsibility, too. The only thing I learned from the article is that CBS can't even afford editors any more.

He has it wrong. It’s Obamacare itself that is the risk - and death knell - to the country’s financial health. Why they can’t see it, I’ll never understand.

Just more of the same.
A DemocratRepublican and a RepublicanDemocrat.
Different sides to the same damn coin. And their coins just keep on coming as long as they can maintain the charade.-

are so fixated on repealing or changing Obamacare that they are willing to risk the nations economic health What really maddens me, what really drives me nuts, is that simple fairness should require the media to point out that the democrats are so fixated on implementing and defending Obamacare that they are willing to:
- Force it through with strictly democrat votes
- Replace their own chairman for trying to work with republicans on the bill
- adopt a lousy version when Massachusetts liberals elect a republican to take away their 60 votes.
- Use budget reconciliation as a way to bribe house democrats to vote for the bill
- lie about abortion coverage to get other house democrats to vote for the bill
- Stand idly by while the president re-writes the bill to his liking.
- AND, are willing to risk the nation's economic health to defend even the most indefensible parts, like the medical device tax, or to avoid delaying the tax on individuals for one year.
EITHER party could have ended the shutdown at any time, simply by giving in to the other side's demands. But somehow, the media decided that the democrat demands were "reasonable", and the republicans "unreasonable", even though a majority of people liked the republican idea.

Voters gave Republicans the power over taxing and spending.

I am frustrated by Bob Casey pissing all over his dad’s legacy by supporting a law that provides universal government funding of abortion while continuing to lie by claiming that he is pro-life. There is a special place in hell reserved for politicians like that.
