The United States has overtaken Saudi Arabia to become the world's biggest oil producer as the jump in output from shale plays has led to the second biggest oil boom in history, according to leading U.S. energy consultancy PIRA.
U.S. output, which includes natural gas liquids and biofuels, has swelled 3.2 million barrels per day (bpd) since 2009, the fastest expansion in production over a four-year period since a surge in Saudi Arabia's output from 1970-1974, PIRA said in a release on Tuesday.
It was the latest milestone for the U.S. oil sector caused by the shale revolution, which has upended global oil trade. While still the largest consumer of fuel, the rise of cheap crude available to domestic refiners has turned the United States into a significant exporter of gasoline and distillate fuels.

Interesting. And almost none of this increase has occurred on federal lands as the Obama Administration has prevented most new drilling and extraction.
The Anti Frackers...wont like this good news one bit!
Imagine Park Rangers trying to SHUTDOWN an oilfield
If we had the federal lands too we could put the damn Saudis out of bidness.
Obama’s mouth boy jay carney will be trumpeting this as triumph of the administration’s energy policy by lunchtime tomorrow. and the MSM will dutifully report it as the truth.
Watch. It will happen.
the shale-oil-revolution only happened
in the US
why is that?
Despite the Obama and the Democrats all out fight to shut the US energy boom down, Americans find a way and as long as oil stays above $40 per barrel they will keep finding ways.
Now even the nut balls in the California Assembly are endorsing fracking because it's the only form of economic activity they see to keep funding their insane welfare

why is that?
Because we are America and only Americans can pull something like off. American companies will soon be spreading across the globe to help the rest of the world out of their energy crisis
So, does this mean that gas prices will be plummeting anytime soon?
Already has. Obama was bragging about it the other day. I had to change the channel real quick before I was forced to kick the screen in. Canada is still begging us to approve the pipeline...
Because the Saudis are funding every politician, lawyer, and greenie in the world to fight it from being exploited. They are concerned about our planet, don't you know?
Why are we not seeing this reflected at the gas pump?
So, on paper the US does not need to import oil, and gasolene prices are headed below $2.00 - right???
Why is the guy allowed to wear a lapel pin with the Stars and Stripes on it?
Wish that the SS would dress him more appropriately.
Whoa hoss!
Assume you have 1 million barrels of gasoline in your storage tank and Europe is willing to pay you $8.00/barrel.
You, as a good American, are rather going to sell it for $2.00/barrel domestically.
Yeah, right.
American Exceptionalism, despite whatever the Kenyan bastard said.

............
US companies invented the procedure.
Other countries will eventually pick up on it.
A lot of countries already have invested in oil projects in the USA so as to gain access to the know how.
