of course you are correct. If the senate Rs had stood with Cruz we would be in a much better position today.

There are some solid conservative Tea Partiers in the house/senate so let’s see how this all works out. It’s their call.

Next election all hell is going to break lose! So no matter which way this short term “deal” turns out conservatives can say “we stood with the American people” and “we told you so”.
The Rs had better hire some good PR folks too!

NRO: “Even as the White House quickly rejected it based on leaked details, House conservatives are calling a proposal unveiled by Speaker John Boehner at this morning’s conference meeting a “working document” and saying they expect several additions to enhance the leadership’s bid.

“That was a framework from which to build from,” says Representative Tom Graves of Georgia, one of the leading architects of the push to defund Obamacare in the House.

“We gave a bunch of different options” in the meeting, says Representative Mick Mulvaney of South Carolina, referring to conservatives, “the bill probably will end up being tweaked a little bit before it gets to rules.”

Members described a vigorous, “family discussion” in the meeting, which went one hour beyond its scheduled time. Representative Joe Barton, who has previously complained about proposals to end a special Obamacare subsidy for Congress, demanded “anyone who wasn’t elected” leave the room, referring to staff.”

Other reports I’ve seen suggest that the House will respond with a bill that “opens” government and raises the debt ceiling short term; which means they get another crack at all this after Jan 1.

Also they are going to add an amendment that forces congress & its staff to abide by Obamacare without subsidies.

That seems like a smart play to me. Reid and Obama will not accept the congress/staffers amendment.

If they want to keep the government “closed” and bust past the debt ceiling deadline BECAUSE THEY THEMSELVES REFUSE TO TAKE PART IN OBAMACARE, then I say give them the rope to hang themselves.

Agreed.

The Rs had better hire some good PR folks too!

Getting rid of Rove and current crop of "consultants" is a necessity.

Sent one to Boehner the other day. Sent this to Cornyn a minute ago:
Dear Mr. Cornyn, I am imploring that you, and othe Republicans stand fast and don't accept any bad deals from harry Reid and his egotistical socialist minions. This current stand may be the last chance to preserve a free People. Too often, and for far too long, Republicans seem more interested in kissing the rings of the Democrats and maintaining the status quo of a government going rogue to the dismay of Conservatives who love the Freedoms that the Constitution attributes to God. It has never been the governments' job to "do good", and that is where most of our problems stem from. We have a socialist and petty president who considers the Constitution to be fatally flawed because it does exactly what it is supposed to do - protect the People from a government that deems itself overlords rather than servants of the People. In case you haven't noticed, We the People, want leaders who understand what their job is - that is why so many of us stand behind Ted Cruz and Mike Lee.. Not since Ronald reagan have we enjoyed a leader who understood and loved what the Constitution stood for. Obama Care is one of the last straws and is a monstrosity designed to take the last bit of resistance from a Free people so a corrupt government can control every aspect of our lives. To coin a phrase, "If you aren't for the People, you are against the People.". The great Silent Majority is finally coming awake and finding its voice - we are not happy with the politicians who are actively trying to subjugate the People and we have disdain for the supposed conservatives who are being complicit by playing games and saying they are for us while acting in their political interests instead of in the interest of the their constituents. You mock the Tea Party and bemoan that it is co-opting the government. We are building to take a stand against those who lie to us and then pat themselves on the backs for "making a deal" that keeps useless fannies warm in their seats on high while the People suffer.

I beg you find your spines, your dignity, and your manhood and stand firm against the Democrats. If you acept some seriously flawed deal with a 'promise to negotiate later", then we must consider you to be too stupid and thereby unfit to continue in government service - the Dems have made promise after promise, and the repubs have taken that as a sign of "government working, only to have them renege and stare down their noses at you and us. You have on more chance to find your sense of decency and to take a meaningful stand. If you and your cronies fail, rest assured that we will work to end your career and replace you with "wacko-birds" who believe in the Constitution and who have the decency to understand that the government is "of the People, by the People and for the People". Thank you for your time.

Thanks for the info and link.

This is a fearful time, these strong House Republicans (mostly tea party affiliated) are doing the right thing. I hope we can honor them with our support because you know a lot of people here who talk big will just whine, piss, moan, and then blame them for folding when they did all they could.

“Only Obozo at this point can cause a default by refusing to pay debt bond obligations.”

You really think the vindictive SOB wouldn’t? It is his plan to create a crisis and then respond to it his way.

How do you kill it in 2014 even if you take the senate and retain the house? Obama vetoes everything and the Vichy republicrats in the senate won’t even have any pretense of a fight. They will roll again claiming this is not the hill to die on and we must pick our battles prattle and surrender again. It needs to die now even if you have to tear somethings down in the process. Sometimes you have to tear down to rebuild correctly.

At this point, I tend to agree with you. Allowing the other side suffer the consequences is the best way. They will never believe us.

They’ll win this battle but we’ll win the war of 2014.

Sarge, hopefully, the people will speak and the Dims, even BO, will have to listen after the 2014 election. If he vetoes, the GOP will have to pay attention too.

We already know what will happen. When Boehner last negotiated with Pelosi and compromised, the first thing she did was to rub it in his face with her gloating comment that she smoked him out.

I disagree, assuming the republicans take both houses and he vetoes any repeal of obamacare the media and the punk in the Spite House will begin heaping scorn upon the wussbags in the GOP and they will fold again.

Aside from a very few in the Congress the republicans will not fight. They remind me of the Union generals and Army of the Potomac that were terrified of what General Lee “might” do to them to the point of paralysis.

You'd think Cornyn would be feeling the heat from Conservatives in the House and in his own state.

Maybe he is...I just heard a Cornball campaign commercial, on the radio, saying who all has voted/nominated Corny for *most* conservative whatever. Then, the voice at the end says "John Cornyn, the conservative". I laughed so hard that I spilled my coffee.

Run, Louie, run!!

Does anyone think that these Democrats are going to take this screwing and vote back in the numbnuts who are screwing them?

Absolutely I do.

I have a feeling Cornball will never take the time to read your warning. As far as I know, he is unopposed in March 2014.

It might be that nothing much at all happens in 2014. People like their friendly incumbents. I wouldn't be surprise to see liberals hold on to SC, TN, and KY nominations. And we don't even have challengers in TX and MS.

What a sad situation this is. Every incumbent should be voted out, as they allowed this to happen. NOT ONE OF THEM IN OFFICE!! I’m praying for a new group of conservatives that will stand strong next time.

I am leaving the GOP ...I’ve wanted to for a long time. It means I won’t get to vote in the Primary but I can’t stand to be in that party anymore.

Anyone see Megyn Kelly last night? She had Louis Gohmert and Huelscamp (?) on and asked them, whether it's worth standing on principle if the GOP takes a political hit. That the Tea Party is hurting the GOP. These Tea Party guys have to answer this charge.

What's hurting the GOP is the cave in by the RINO's and Establishment who continue to stab the Tea Party (vast majority of GOP voters). By attacking and not supporting the Tea Party, the RINOs are putting the existence of the GOP at risk. It ain't the Tea Party damaging the GOP brand.
