Democrats may think they've won, but the nation will lose if warnings about spending, debt go unheeded.
If congressional negotiators fail to raise the debt ceiling and reopen the government, voters will blame House Republicans, but it's the president and fellow Democrats that are behaving like teenagers by wanting to spend irresponsibly.
Studies by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office and Medicare and Medicaid actuaries indicate if Washington continues spending and borrowing as current law requires, then all Americans, and not just the wealthy, will be paying higher taxes and more on private health care.
Federal spending on Social Security and medical care will squeeze out spending on roads, education and other activities necessary to support the economy and protect public safety. Budget deficits and the national debt will jump to unbearable levels.
Like in Italy, economic growth will slow to a snail's pace, unemployment will become unbearable and working Americans will become much poorer. In the end, Uncle Sam will default on its bonds and obligations to the elderly, and many Americans will be deprived of decent health care.
Since winning control of the House, Republicans have sought to focus the president and his allies in Congress on those challenges, but Democrats have resisted any meaningful changes to entitlement programs....

Don’t worry, most of the liberals I work with won’t read it anyway.

Here's a post I think is worth repeating here.
From another post in response to the Rally and Protest on Sunday in Washington.
*** In one swoop " THE PEOPLE " have taken what was once Barry the Commie Dictator's ace in the hole, his thunder of speech, and proaganda of blaming the Republicans out of his and the liberal media's hands.
In one swoop " THE PEOPLE " have disamred the government and Barry because now the world is wathcing every move Obama takes on this one.
Besides ? it's really bad optics for Obama, Reid, MSM of them putting back up those Barry's Iron Curtains that the free, or shall I say fighting for their freedom " WE THE PEOPLE " have taken down to have Obama order them to have them put back up and at the same time say this is the Republicans fault because the Republicans are wanting to get their way on Obamacare...... Even a turnip can figure this one out.
( I want to add there to that Obama does not need the bad optics of his jackboot Nazi SS storm troopers going all Kent State on innocent peaceful protesters, with women, children, and 90 year old Vets on the streets, if Barry the Commie were to go all Kent State on those protesters Impeachment would be a sure thing )
So I have to disagree on this one, THE PEOPLE won on this one, and the government and Barry lost. If the Republicans can watch THE PEOPLE and use this we can win in Congress and force Obama, Reid to surrender. 130 posted on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 5:35:38 AM by American Constitutionalist ****
Republicans need to send out a memo to Obama and Harry Reid that the Republicans will accept their total and unconditional surrender upon tomorrow for the Republicans have the support of the American people.
And keep sending that memo to Obama and Harry Reid every time they refuse to negotiate.
TOTAL AND UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER !

Guess what this spells ?
It spells ? WE ARE WINNING and the liberals are showing their cracks.
The Republicans need not to give in and give up on getting rid of Obamacare and Amnesty.
The Republicans need to send a memo to Obama and Harry Reid stating:
We Republicans of Congress do so ask you Obama and Harry Reid to Surrender and Unconditionally.
We will accept your unconditional surrender upon tomorrow.

Wow, unusual editorial. Yes, behaving like profligate teenagers. Remarkably juvenile. Shortsided. And a hundred other adjectives and nuances.
None of which matter. All of us will be on the bus when it careens over the cliff.

The surprise to me is that they would print anything Peter Morici says. He’s one of the few reliables to speak on economic matters.
