Even if the people that sign up don’t have much money, ID theft is still lucrative. By assuming the identity of an enrollee or anyone giving personal info, they can submit bogus claims to insurance companies. That’s why no one should create an account on line, except the moronic 0-voters of course.
This happens in Medicare and Medicaid all the time and those programs have stricter fraud prevention programs.

I know that many will say that the failure of 0-care was planned all the time as a way to create a vacuum and usher in doialist health care run by sociopaths. But, this seems like it will be a very precipitous collapse of the government’s experiment.

Obamacare gives the IRS direct access to your bank account, it is only natural that they want your account number.

For what purpose? I wouldn’t permit anyone access to my accounts to withdraw money.
Only the SSA has my routing and account numbers, and that’s just to electronically deposit my monthly SS amount.
I pay all my bills by check and use cash for everything else.

I never did understand taking direct deposit if you were due an income tax refund...Because you have to give your account number. Its been that way for years.
I hope that the web page that provided the text boxes for the bank account information was at least for a secure server, an “https” visible in its link.
