I was very disappointed to see Robert Costa of National Review use of the dollar sign in this tweet:
Praised recently by a lot of liberals in the press, invited to the White House to sit with Barack Obama, and now subtly suggesting the McConnell Boehner K Street GOP attack on Heritage Action for America, Senate Conservatives Fund, Club for Growth, and Madison Project is legit, i.e. theyre in it for the money.
Thats disappointing, but unsurprising.
In fact, the groups mentioned above, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Mark Meadows, Tom Graves, etc. are under withering fire from the media and their Republican colleagues. Itd be far easier to be in it for the money than principle. Then theyd get a fat check from K Street, pass a medical device tax repeal, and go on their merry way.
Theres a whole lot of projection in Washington these days. The crowd so used to collecting checks and letting those checks guide their policy are unused to people in it for principle.
Nonetheless, the rest of Robert Costas feed and others has boiled down to a fight over sequestration. The Democrats say that Obamacare is the law of the land so it cannot change. But Democrats want sequestration spending changed. It too is the law of the land.

Poor Bammy doesn’t like having his EBT Card cut off.
Bammy needs to start visiting all of the Kindergartens around the country to explain to the kids why he’s handing out $100k IOUs for them to sign and exhort them to get to work making more money for him to spend.

Costa is a squish - Nat’l Review should ask him to start reporting for Politico where he would be infinitely more comfortable.
sequester is “settled law”
deal with it democraps
It harms the military the most (at 17% of the budget, the Dept of Defense must "pay for" 50% of all Sequester cuts), and it piles on the previous cuts the military took in 2009 and 2011. Those were very significant cuts, and the Sequester was the knife across the throat. It grounded 11 Air Force combat wings, Navy ships cannot even perform proper maintenance, and the Marines are being forced to cut thousands.
All the while, the "giveaway" programs were not cut one dime under the Sequester.
Universal Program for Subsidized Phones for Low Income (ObamaPhones), EBT Food Stamps, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Section 8 Housing, Unemployment, TANF Welfare, Energy Assistance, EITC, Foster Care Title IV, Old Age Assistance, AFDC, General Assistance Cash, Assets for Independence, General Assistance to Native Americans, SCHiP State Supplemental Health Insurance Program, Consolidated Health Centers, Consolidated Community Health, Maternal and Child Health Assistance Fund, Healthy Start, School Lunch, Job Assistance, Job Training, Minority Job Assistance, Job Relocation, Woman Infants and Children's Program, Nutrition for the Elderly, Summer Program, Summer Jobs Program, Minority Summer Jobs, Hispanic Jobs Program, African-American Jobs Program, Commodity Supplemental Food Program, Special Milk Program, Needy Families, Farmer's Market Nutrition Program, Public Housing, Low Income Energy Assistance, Migrant Education, Title One Grants to Local Education Authorities, Education for Homeless Children and Youth, Even Start, Job Corps, Social Security Disability, Social Security for Refugees, Social Security for Humanitarian Cases, Social Security for Asylum, Health Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood Grants, TANF Child Care, Empowerment Zones for Minority Communities, Urban Development Action Grants, and Family Planning (abortion).
Many Republicans and so-called Conservatives are behaving like hypocrites or worse.
They have been screaming outrage over the wit holding of death benefits to veteran's families, and storming the WW II barricades, but when it comes to fiscally cutting the military off at the knees with the Sequester, they are just fine with that.
Thanks JSDude1. GREAT headline!
