There always are.
The White House has always been armed.
I thought there are always sniper on top the WH (I seem to recall reading that some time ago).
They are usually up there just today they are actually pointing their weapons in that general direction.

Considering who is living in the WH today, the other Hussein from Iraq also had snipers on his roof.
There are always snipers on the Spite House roof.
Snipers are always on the roof. As are anti-aircraft batteries.
Got no problem with either until they start taking out civilians who are not a threat to them.
They've been there for many decades (Carter-Reagan?). And there's all kinds of *defensive stuff* up there on the WH roof...'allegedly'...besides Snipers .
Not so much for use against 'us', but terrorists, assassins, and any not so friendly foreign gov't who may want to try something really stupid (The White House is more than living quarters and offices).
