House Republicans returned from a meeting with President Barack Obama saying they will continue discussions Thursday night about a six-week debt ceiling hike.

“We had a very useful meeting,” Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said, upon returning from the White House Thursday evening. “It was clarifying I think for both sides as to where we are and the takeaway from the meeting was, our teams are going to be talking further tonight, we’ll have more discussion, we’ll come back to have more discussion. The president said that he would go and consult with the administration folks and hopefully we can see a way forward after that.”

A senior House GOP aide said Obama “did not say yes or no to House Republicans’ offer.” Both sides are continuing talks tonight, according to the aide.

The White House said Obama had a “good meeting” with House Republican leaders that lasted about 90 minutes.

Boner, Cantor and Ryan need to put ObamaCare BACK ON THE TABLE IMMEDIATELY if they want to recover from their debacle. That’s the only way to get Bathhouse Barry’s attention and the only thing he and the Dems are afraid of.

A senior House GOP aide said Obama “did not say yes or no...

He doesn't have to, the republicans are negotiating with themselves. Also, Reid already said it wasn't going to happen, so apparently Obama is not have the power to say yes or no.

“We had a very useful meeting,” Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said, upon returning from the White House Thursday evening......”

There’s no possible way to have a “useful meeting” with a Democrat much less Obama. Anything they say is a lie for the purpose of setting off their opposition.

Cantor is obviously gullible, or thinks we whom he is reporting to are. Let’s NOT be.

They are simply trying to work out how they will present the surrender to the base so that it looks like it’s not a surrender.

Obama knows he is losing the PR war so he wants republicans to pull him out of the fire.

And republicans are always happy to be used.

Obama does exactly what Harry Reid tells him to. This is silly. Boehner has been whipsawed by Harry enough he should know better.

There’s still hope but I think this means the Senate Rs have surrendered.
If Harry didn’t have them and the media covering for him he’d be the most reviled person in the country and unemployed.

“The president said that he would go and consult with the administration folks and hopefully we can see a way forward after that.”

Which of course means he has to go ask his boss what he should do next.

The NBC/WSJ poll has the Democrats laughing and the Republicans in their usual pants-filling panic. Expect an all-out cave tomorrow.

The rats are losing but they fall back to the old push poll propaganda move and now all of DC is quaking in their boots.

I’m sure the meeting was very good “give and take”.
You give Obama everything he wants and he’ll take ten times more.
