Senior Internal Revenue Service officialsincluding one at the heart of the IRS targeting scandalviolated agency policies and possibly federal records laws by using private email to send confidential taxpayer information, the GOP-led House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform said in a letter.
In a Sept. 30 letter to IRS Acting Commissioner Daniel Werfel obtained by the Free Beacon, Oversight Chairman Darrel Issa (R., Calif.) said an investigation revealed a troubling pattern of at least four top IRS officials using their private email addresses to relay confidential tax information.
This not only raises the prospect of violations of the Federal Records Act but it also raises data security concerns and violates internal IRS policies, Issa wrote to Werfel.
The committee discovered the emails while investigating the ongoing IRS scandal that began earlier this year when an official admitted that the agency targeted conservative groups during the 2012 election.
Lois Lerner, who headed the IRS tax-exempt division at the heart of the scandal, is one of the officials named in Issas letter.

So all of your tax info could be in the hands of the same kid who hacked Sarah Palin’s Yahoo account. Swell!!
Is ANYBODY in this Marxist/Moslem regime ever going to jail for breaking the law?
Let’s start by taking away their camels.
Criminal, treasonous behavior.
SEC violation? Not that they care or anything.
She needs to be prosecuted and sued in civil court.
That is being unkind to animals.
Who would send them to jail?
Eric Holder?
Please...
“Criminal, treasonous behavior.”
Maybe in a sane world. With this administration, it gets one a promotion or a fat cat job in one of Obamas donors corporations. The slimier, the better is the motto with obama, reid and pelosi.
So what’s new? State Security and their minions are always above the law.
Gestapo, Stasi, NKVD, KGB, ATF, IRS, NSA...
All ore alike than different.
Issa is investigating.
Like he investigated Fast & Furious, and Benghazi.
What I want to know is why his investigations always give him a headline but don’t amount to SH*t.
Who is in jail from sending guns to Mexico. Hillary and gun running caused 4 people to die Benghazi, and she is running for the Presidency, and Obama watched it all and is playing Golf while the Government is shut down.
Meanwhile Issa is investigating.
DO Something. Lets see some action. The least he can do is name names, and lay blame.
Issa will keep talking about this until the statute of limitations has run out. No one has been prosecuted, nothing has changed in the IRS operation. Time for some results one of these days? I really don’t get how a person like Lerner, in open defiance of the law and blatantly abusing her power as a government employee, is not yet charged with any crime.
The administration must breathe a sigh of relief when Issa announces he’s going to investigate something.
Imagine for a moment you have a medical condition that you would rather not anyone knowing about except for your doctor and close family relatives.
But, for some reason you are a liability to the government and discovery of that medical information just might benefit their boss in the White House.
For any govt employee or contractor to put ANY official govt data into private email is a violation of law.
Even the unclassified data has to be protected.
Private federal taxpayer information requires special considerations.
This memo was sent to everyone in the Air Force Research Lab just yesterday:
FYI. Please disseminate as needed.
A recent FOIA lawsuit involving the Environmental Protection Agency (http://www.eenews.net/stories/1059986068 ) resulted in a ruling that if personnel use their private email (e.g., Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.) to conduct government work, their personal email will be subjected to search under the FOIA. Please remind personnel that if theycreate AF records in their private email accounts that those records should be moved to filed in their office official files (reference paragraph 6.11 of AFMAN 33-363, “Official Records on Personally-Owned Computers, Hand-Held and Blackberries”.
Yay! I can’t wait until they are enforcing Obamacare and have access to all of our medical records! They’d never use it in an inappropriate manner to target their political opponents.....
I would guess that his “investigations” are mere show so that the party (and congressional staffers) can say “we ARE doing something, we’re in the middle of an investigation.”
Is there a Statute of Limitations on Treason? (Fast & Furious is Treason.)
That’s my guess too.
