It never stops. This man has a deep seething hate for this country and the military personnel.

If only ONE Republican would have the courage to go on TV and tell the people what this man is doing. You can be sure the media will never do it.

Yeah? Get a load of this. The DoD civilians who support the active duty military were mostly furloughed even though this bill clearly funded them BEFORE the shutdown. The government is going to pay them either way, so they sat home for no reason whatsoever (other than Hagel’s ineptitude).

"“Secretary [of Defense Chuck] Hagel assured the service leaders that he would work closely with them to address these challenges, and support the service members and families impacted by these disruptions,” it continued."

----------------------------------->

I know how they can fix this ------> Give them the $100,000 NOW.

Hagel, do you think we are this dumb!

To yank $100,000 due to these survivors as they survive their loss - that is really a black heart at work.

May nothing like this ever happen to you, Hagel.

Oh, yes..........FUCHagel

This is not any other secdef, it is UpChuck Hagel, who like Kerrey served in VN. He was a POS RINO senator who proclaimed that he was sent to the senate to represent HIS views on issues as opposed to the wishes of those (ignorant in his mind) Nebraskans who sent him there. UpChuck always proclaimed himself a “friend” of the troops because he was one. You’re barking at the moon if you think he is anything other than a National Socialist Democrat calling himself a conservative.

If Boehner folds after all of this....there should be hell to pay.

We the People are at the hands of a vile tyrant - I do not have the words to describe my loathing towards the traitor, Obama.

Have they stopped military burials? If so, are the bodies being delivered to the White House?

You’re talking about people who simply refused to obey DADT before one part of it was overruled by the Supreme Court. Don’t tell me they won’t ignore or liberally redefine laws to mean whatever they want. So then you have this bill, S.1541 - Military Pay Protection Act of 2013, that was signed into law by the president BEFORE the shutdown.

http://www.opencongress.org/bill/113-s1541/text

So SECDEF Chuck Hagel not only sent DoD civilians home when he didn’t have to, but he’s created interruptions in pay that this bill specifically says he’s not supposed to do. Again, it’s not like his ilk don’t take the most liberal interpretations of the laws possible when it suits them.

Hmmm. Maybe creating these pay disturbances suits Hagel?!?!

Secretary [of Defense Chuck] Hagel

Another one of the Dictator’s platoon of d*****-bags. Maybe he can have a big cry over how he is screwing the families of American heroes who died in action for all of us - in a conflict, by the way, tht the current Dictator sitting in the White House swore to end years ago.

But then, what’s another lie among “friends”?

It took that idiot Hagel a full week to figure out that this bill actually meant he did not have to furlough all the civilians, so he finally brought them back.

I would be careful of this. I’ve been out for a few years, but there was no $100,000 death benefit paid like this. There is Serviceman’s Group Life Insurance, but even in normal times, that takes some time to be paid. There was never money to fly families to Andrews AFB. They did have a payment, but I think it was closer to a month’s pay then it would be to $100,000. The Democrats deserve to have their donkeys kicked, but I’m not sure this info is correct.

Exactly who is surprised by this? Is it the folks who fail to understand the endless, bottomless, contempt that Osama Obama’s always had for the Armed Forces and their families?

CharlesWayneCT: “It took that idiot Hagel a full week to figure out that this bill actually meant he did not have to furlough all the civilians, so he finally brought them back.”

Yes. I believe you’re right, unless he intentionally furloughed them for political motives. Maybe he was thinking it would create a massive outcry against the evil Republicans in the House.

Like I wrote earlier, these people aren’t above reinterpreting law to suit their purposes. The bill is pretty concise—easy to understand. Hagel could have easily interpreted it to mean ALL DoD civilians should be kept on the job, since they are, by definition, there to support the active duty military. Who could stop him?

Even if he legally thought it limited him to only some civilians, he certainly didn’t need a week to figure it out. He’s either inept or trying to achieve a political goal at the military’s expense. You be the judge.
