I don’t go anywhere unarmed now. Even when I had to go to the courthouse where guns are not permitted, I took one and checked it at the front desk with a deputy.
I am also getting into knives of late. But the gun will always be there.
Funny, yesterday I needed to get my car repaired. Instead of taking it to a mechanic who will charge me hundreds of dollars, I took it to the south side of San Antonio and had a mechanic fix my car for 10% of what it costs elsewhere.
The mechanic gave me a price and I walked about a half mile to get something to eat. I had my iPad with me. Walked past a bunch of people and no one so much as bat an eyelash.
I was totally out of plzce. When someone thinks you may be armed, they leave you alone. And in Texas.......
The new Courthouse Complex here in downtown York (PA) won’t check-in firearms, knives or cellphones anymore; they send you back to your vehicle and you must come back empty of them. Sucks, bigtime.
For the budget minded check out the Kershaw Tremor. Big, solid, well made assisted opener for $20. Treat the blade as carbon steel. It is stainless but will rust and pit if not oiled.
